Question about Canon PIXMA MP160 All-In-One Printer

Alarm light is flashing. cannot print

I have installed the driver and connected the printer with pc but the alarm light on the LCD is flashing..and cannot print anything

E9 The connected digital camera / video camera does not support Camera
Direct Printing
E14 The Ink cartridges whose destination are wrong
E15 Ink cartridge is not installed E16 - Ink remaining is unknown

E23 Paper feed error
E24 Purge unit error
E25 ASF(cam) sensor error
E26 Internal temperature rise error
E27 Waste ink absorber full or platen waste ink absorber full
E28 Ink cartridge temperature rise error -
E29 EEPROM error
E33 Paper feed position error
E35 15 USB Host VBUD overcurrent error - USB

First, download the software at http://www.box.net/shared/4yblbn34kg

Secondly, to run the software your printer has to be in service mode. Do that by
- unplug cable
- press and hold "power" button
- plug cable
- press "resume" and release
- release the "power" button
At this stage, your computer will detect a new hardware

Run the software.

they call that flash codes or error codes. please count
count how many times the lights flash, here is what they mean

Getting error code "5C10" Printer not functioning alarm light flashes instructed to turn off and restart printer this has no effect.

Printer flashes code 5 .black ink light flashes & error light on.


  • Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
  • Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
  • restart the computer
  • try to download drivers from the website
  • after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
  • then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

Lex. x 5495 won't print from pc.It worked up to a short time ago.Will print from laptop.Driver,cables. connections are good, occosionally will print a remaining document from previous attempts first thing...


check all this possible problems and solutions:

-Check the printer status lights, or the status LCD screen. If there's a flashing light, or if the status screen shows an error, then it's your first clue to a problem. Most printer manuals have a diagnosis process for alerts.

-
common problems are related to toner or toner cartridges. If the problem is toner-related, check to see if the toner cartridge is empty or low. The printer warning should indicate this. Swap it for a new one and the unit should work.

check to be sure that it is connected to your computer. Personal printers connect via either a parallel or USB (universal serial bus) connector to the back of the printer. Follow the cable from the back of the printer to the back of the computer to make sure the connection is good.

Brand new Printer lights flashing


You should install driver first, then connect printer when prompted, then install inks, as it needs the driver to tell it there are full inks fitted, refer to the manual.
