SOURCE: front suspension to soft on mongoose xr-75

The front forks aren't adjustable, as you probably figured out. You can, however, get harder springs if the springs can be accessed at the top of the fork tube. If not, do what I did on my mountain bike. I bought a better pair of adjustable forks that I found on eBay. It will take a bit of investigation on your part regarding the dimensions of the forks, so you get the correct length and width where the forks fit onto the frame (and the overall desired fork length), but you'll be a lot happier with adjustables.

SOURCE: Suspension adjustment for a 2007 Shogun Hydra

Have a look at this site:http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/index.php/t-15120.html and this site might help http://www.bikewebsite.com/suspension.htm You will have to either search for the manufacturers site and look for the adjustment info there( you should be able to download the manual for the forks ) or mention the specifics here so we can find them. According to my info your bike should have a Suntour SF-M3010db fork on it.

SOURCE: How to stop the creaking sound in a new full

Well that's a hard problem to solve without having the bike here, not hearing the noise. Make sure your chain is lubricated (with bike chain oil, not WD40), because this is the foremost cause of weird bike noises in my experience. The other thing, is it a Target/Wal-Mart/CostCo/Etc bike? these bikes have REALLY inferior parts and they will indeed squeak and squeal.

matt

SOURCE: Hi I have a problem,

Since you've let the air out of the shock you need to go to a Bike Shop for a refill anyway because a normal pump doesn't reach the pressures supplied by a shock pump. While you're there, have them set the bike up for your preferences and instruct you in shock operation.

I have a Mongoose Dual Suspension Mountain Bicycle 26 inch that I purchased approx. 2007 and I need the rear wheel axel and bearing assembly. Where would I be able to purchase these parts?

It's prabably easier to buy a whole new hub. And for ablout another $20 you get a whole new tire. You should do that. Have a bike shop do it because it can be tricky.

What type of mountain bike are they?

There are six main types of mountain bikes. These include: comfort, hybrid, hardtail, single speed, full suspension and freeride. One of these types of bikes will fit your style and riding needs. Talk with a bike salesperson to determine which one will work best for you.

What's a "hardtail"? What's "full suspension"?

A "hardtail" is a mountain bike that has a front suspension fork (like the one on the right) and no shock absorber in the back. Good hardtails are light, fast and responsive, and because of this they are good for climbing.
Even the cheapest mountain bikes these days tend to have suspension forks. That's not necessarily a good thing, since most of the forks on cheap bikes are of poor quality and will probably need replacing before too long. The cheapest forks also tend to be sold only on new bikes, and not separately. Find out the make and model of the fork, and search around on the web for it. The price will give you an indication of the fork quality.
Most decent bikes are sold with Rock Shox, Manitou, or Marzocchi. Marzocchi has been making forks longer than anyone and has probably the best reputation, but they tend to be expensive so you won't find them on anything but expensive bikes. Rock Shox and Manitou make lower-end (but reasonably good) forks. Other reputable brands such as Fox and Suntour make forks that may very well provide a good service life, but are not as well known for mountain bike forks. Replacement forks can be found at very low prices during sales and clearance events, so they can be upgraded later (sometimes at a bargain price). A "full suspension" bike has the front suspension fork and a rear suspension (like the bike on the right). These are highly recommended if you ride in a lot of rocks, as the rear suspension allows you to glide over rough terrain. They're also good for big jumps. The rear shock adds some complexity to the bike, and a good bit more weight at any give price point, plus there'll be a bit more maintenance. Plus, you'll pay a few hundred dollars more than a hardtail for a bike of otherwise equal components. Depending on your terrain, it might be worth it; riding a hardtail in big rocks can be brutal.

How much should I spend for a mountain bikes?

As much as you can stand. For the first-time mountain bike buyer, the cost of mountain bikes may be a bit shocking. As a general rule, you'll pay the following: Junk hardtail < $300
Light-use hardtail $300-500
Intermediate hardtail $500-800
Race-ready hardtail $800-2,000
Boutique hardtail $2,000+
Junk full-suspension < $800
Light-use full-suspension $800-1,500
Intermediate full-suspension $1,500-2,000
High-end full-suspension $2,000+
