the faster your broadband connection the lower your ping will be. broadband speed, is affected by company, area, how far you house is from the telephone exchange, could also be a problem with your line. things to do to begin with is www.speedtest.net speed test then if you are in the uk, use this site http://freeola.com/broadband/broadband-speed-availability-check.php should tell you what speed your broadband should be.
you need the correct video card and drivers . Go to novalogic.com and you will find drivers there plus what the game requirements are to play it. Novalogic is one of the worst gaming companies in this respect to their video tests to play . I know because I try to host alot of Novalogic games on servers but all their games reguire a video graphics card with multiplexing and H&TL but high-end servers like I have do not have such cards. So most game hosting companies avoid Novalogic. Not a smart way of doing it on their part. I bet they lose millions due to this very reason and not sure why they don't fix it for both hosting and playing. Also if yours does work on some servers but not on others it most likely they are running a mod or have it set up password entrance only or they just set up their server wrong. Plus you need to be Gold member to enter certain servers, otherwise stated silver members only
There may not be a fix your machine may not handle the requirements necessary to run this graphics game high end. You can always upgrade more memory and a better video card just a suggestion. Some games just are hard to load and maintain quality and speed while glitching or freezing up that is lack of resources or to many open programs while playing the games. Stuff in the background may be running you do not need running all this has its factors in keeping a game on track. It could also be that your machine needs a good cleaning or defrag. There are so many different reasons when I play a game I use a gaming computer which is basic and no other software is installed but games period and the operating system to run the games. I do not use my PC or laptop for both. One thing at a time unless you have a good gaming laptop or PC you will have these issues every time. That has been my experience............John
Hello, There are a number of things that can cause this, namely your internet speed. Make sure you have high speed internet with at least 10mbps download and 1mbps upload for best results. Game play can also be affected by wireless. If you are connected to your router via wireless, try using a network cable instead. If your wireless signal quality varies a lot it can cause disruptions in your connection. If you have any P2P programs running such as emule, limewire, torrents, etc... Shut them down as they tend to sap your upload speed which in turn, affects your game. If your computer is not that fast and doesn't play the game without online mode very well, it could be worse online being you are now rendering more elements into the game. Lastly, EA Servers may be over loaded at peak hours which could also affect your game play. Check your internet speed here http://www.speedtest.net and also your link quality here: http://www.pingtest.net Make sure your ping is at least below 80ms and your link quality is A or C. Any less and you may have trouble playing some online games. And again, for the speed, it's good to have at least 10mbps download and 1mbps upload. My connection is 50mbps download and 3mbps upload with ping grade A and ping 3ms, so I have never had any problems myself with online games and real-time streaming J Hope this helps! Chris
A lot of people have problems playing online games with satellite internet. The problem is that while your download speed is usually okay, the upload speed to the satellite is too low and the latency (the time between when your computer sends a message and the satellite relays it to the other party) is way too high.
Unfortunately, you probably will not be able to play any kind of PS3 games online via HughesNet. Computer browser-based games would likely be okay, but your latency will be too high to connect to any PS3 game servers.
