SOURCE: Whirlpool gas dryer model #
The flame sensor is probably bad. This is located on the side of the tube the flame is in. Has two wires going to it. Try to short it out and see if the flame stays lit. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES OPERATE THIS DRYER WITH CLOTHES IN IT WITHOUT THE FLAME SENSOR IN PLACE!!!!! The other problem might be air flow. If the duct is blocked the flame will trigger the high limit switch. Take the hose off the back of the dryer and turn it on. There should be a lot of air flow. If there is and the flame stays on the duct hose or outlet is clogged.

SOURCE: flame goes out
If this unit has a pilot flame, the breather around the pilot flame has become dusty. The best way to clean it out is with high pressure air.
It wouldn't hurt to clean with high pressure air anyhow.
See how that goes.

The problem is your gas valve solenoids (coils). There are usually two of them mounted on the burner assembly. One is the MAIN coil, the other is the SECONDARY coil. It is recommended that you replace BOTH of them at the same time. Replacements can be purchased on line at appliancepartspros.com. Just type in the model number you provided and look under the "Burner Assembly" section for items 13 and 14. I hope this helps you.
