Can't connect to internet with 2wire PC port

Is this product Vista compatible? Just got a new computer with Vista and now my 2wire PC port does not work. It is fairly old, might that be the problem or Windows Vista?

Re: can't connect to internet with 2wire PC port

Yes U R right. this is most probably a "Driver" problem. You could try installing the software in "Administrator Mode".. with "Compatability Mode" set for XP. If this doesn't work.. then ya may have to try to contact the manufacturer and ask for a compatable driver for Vista.

My connection through my 2wire pc port phoneline is extremely slow, the internet is very laggy, yet all the computers connected directly to the router through ethernet cables are very fast

This is because the adapter is ONLY 10Mbps you need a higher one 100Mbps or even 1000Mbps... That adapter is too old to be used on a high speed network, replace it with a faster one.

unless this is a wireless enabled or lan RJ45 connectable printer you cannot, the pc that the printer is connected to must be on at the time of the printing.

Wireless printers have their own arial and allocated ip address, Lan RJ45 connective printers can be connected to the router.

Belkin Dongle

You have to make sure first that the working pc is getting its internet connection from the BELKIN and not from the modem. To check that, right click the computer icon at the butoom right of your screen, click detail. ip address that is ok is in this form 192.168.xx.xx. If you are getting like 74.xx.xx.xx, that means that you are getting connection from the modem. THE MODEM ONLY GIVES ONE CONNECTION, MEANING THE ROUTER IS NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. After doing this you can give a follow up question.

2wire pc adapter

If you go to the 2Wire site you will see that only 3 of the seven adapter products listed there have Vista drivers.

If you have one of the Vista supported products, make sure you have the Vista driver.

If you do not, get one that is.
