All Ink: The LABPAL has been working fine. But today when I switched it on:
First only half the characters printed. On second print I just got a series of lines. Then just a big block of black ink. I've tried switching it on and off, changed the label cartridge and I'm still just getting solid blocks of black ink. Any ideas?
Thanks Ernesto, but there's no utility maintenance, or I don't know how to access it. The printer is a self-contained unit, and does not attach to a computerThanks Ernesto, but there's no utility maintenance, or I don't know how to access it. Changing the amount of text doesn't change the size of the block of ink, but changing the label size (e.g.Hz0.6ml to Hz2-4ml) does alter it. So it's clearly getting some info, but not all!Changing the amount of text doesn't change the size of the block of ink, but changing the label size (e.g.Hz0.6ml to Hz2-4ml) does alter it. Having read some other similar problems, I've checked the contact pins. They seem to be fine and when I tried a brand new cartridge, I saw the small scratches the pins made on the cartridge chip, so there's no doubt about the contact!Having read some other similar problems, I've checked the contact pins. MY kodak 9200 did the same thing,I resolved the peoblem by removing the ink cartridges, then removed the ink cartridge holder by slightly raising the metal tab on top and pulling the holder forward and up at the same time, then I removed the plastic barrier behind the holder, then re-install the holder in and under the metal tab,let it click twice the second click was where the barrier used to click, this will put more downward pressure on the printer head, mine works just fine now,I threw away the barrier,be careful not to break the metal tab.
give it a hard reset. so unplug and wait 30 seconds and try again if this doesn't work then it could be a software related error. unfortunately you would have to do more research
I have label cartridge in but it doesn't print, just says "insert labels". I have tried many times to take cartridge out, and reinsert, but it won't do anything.
Hello, this is Harry from www.BusinessSpread.co.uk.
We had the exact same problem when printing, we used 3 different 78 colour ink cartages and they all said 100% full but did not work. We then had a look at the dates on the box and they were all expired so when buying ink from anywhere even PC world or Curry’s always look at the expiry date.
Today I went to PC world and purchased a new 78 ink which said expires July 2011 and it works perfectly fine.

Take out tape cartridge, make sure tape is going THROUGH both top and bottom tape guides. Clear all. This should work. You also may have set up for second line printing. Go through all settings and clear.
In this case what i would request u to do is....... Take out both the catridges from the Printer......... Take 2 Paper Towels one should be wet with Luke warm water and the other one should be dry........... Take the Colour catridge first turn it upside down and u will see a small copper plate on the catridge from where the ink comes out....... Place the wet paper towel using ur thumb on the Copper plate and press it a lit bit for 10 Seconds...... Now remove it and see whether u see any ink on the paper towel.......... U should see some ink on it now place the dry paper towel on the ink catridge in the same way........ Now do the same procedure again.......... Do the same procedure twice on the Black Catridge................. Now take the dry paper towel and turn the direction of the cartridge so that u can see a Copper plate on it with small boxes just clean that copper plate with the Dry Paper Towel.......... Know insert both the catridges inside the Printer the Colour Catridge should go in the right side and the black on the left........ Unplug the Power Supply from the printer.......
Replug in the Power Supply......
Try to Print it will work fine..........

Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
this machine worked fine until today.there is plenty of ink in the cartridges, just replaced the black one a week ago ,worked fine till today when i tried to use it .p.c. works fine,im pi----.

And now it's working again and I have no idea why!
