Question about Toshiba Televison & Video
You can search by internet for your remote control
and fix it this problem. God bless you
Reset television controls. In case you cannot fix your TV via its
component settings, there are other ways of resetting. Just select "Menu", key
in "1, 2, 3", and then press "Enter." In doing this, the TV's
manufacturer's specifications will all be restored. If your TV's power system
does not function, you should perform a complete system reset. You can do this
by clicking on Reset System button located at the TV's control panel. Your
television will be turned off and then a green light (LED) will quickly flash
for approximately one minute. Once the light has stopped flashing, your TV
should immediately turn on.

It sounds like your system is overheating. That can cause the power supply overload to shut the system off.
Try adding an external fan to increase the airflow, especially over the main electronics section. Make sure that you don't blow heat from the bulb back into the system. If this works, there are fan bars that you can purchase that are less obtrusive.

1.) It sounds like you have a convergence problem; in the customer menu with the original Toshiba remote select convergence--if blue or red will NOT move in some direction you have a bad convergence IC.
2.) This set uses 2 STK-392-110 convergence chips; they and any open resistors around them need to be replaced and the set adjusted.
3.) If you are able to do this repair yourself you can save a lot of money--Most TV shops will charge 300-400 for this type of repair on this set.
4.) If you cannot do the repair yourself look in your area--now is the slow time of year for TV repair shops---if they say it "has to go to shop" keep looking----almost any good tech can do this repair in your home in about an hour--I have done hundreds of them here and charge 200-250 total depending on brand and model.
5.) I am here to help people and if you have questions or need advice let me know--the two chips this set uses you can buy on Ebay for about 12 dollars plus shipping.
I do this here for free, so if this information has helped you give me a vote here---let me know by replying here if you need more help.
