Ice maker imc701 bottom icemaker

My ice maker has become "unattached" to from the roof of where it supposed to be attached and is preventing me from removing the ice bin and reattaching. I can partially remove the bin just enough to get my hand inside of the bin but i cannot lift the ice maker up enough to remove the ice bin to reattach.

Found in the FAQ section on Samsung.com:
Samsung refrigerator freezers produce about 120 cubes per day, which is in line with most manufacturer specifications.
Empty the ice tray and let the unit run for 24 hours.
If fewer than 50 cubes are produced during the 24-hour test, then your refrigerator requires service. Please contact Samsung Service at 1-800-SAMSUNG to schedule a service appointment.
If your freezer is producing 50 to 90 cubes per day, try the following:

  • Set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting. Freezer temperature must be 5 degrees Fahrenheit or less for the ice maker to work properly.
  • Make sure that the water valve on the refrigerator water supply line is completely open. You can find the water valve where the refrigerator water supply line taps into your house water line.
  • If you have a water filter in your refrigerator, change the filter cartridge. For instructions, see your Users Manual.
If you want your freezer to produce more than 120 ice cubes in a day, try the following:
  • An ice maker typically makes 1 tray of ice every 90 minutes. To shorten the amount of time the freezer takes to produce a tray of ice, set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting.
  • If your refrigerator has a Power Freeze function, press the Power Freeze button to speed up the ice making process. In the Power Freeze mode, both the compressor and the freezer fan run for 10 hours continuously. The ice making interval is reduced from 90 minutes to 55 minutes. If the ice bucket fills in less than 10 hours, Power Freeze stops automatically.
NOTE: If you have just installed your refrigerator, it will take 6 to 12 hours for the refrigerator to produce ice.
You should throw away the first three batches of ice cubes that the ice maker produces (approximately 30 cubes) to ensure the ice maker is making ice from clean water.

SOURCE: ice maker leaks inside freezer

check the water discharge hose which fills the ice maker after ice is dumped into the bin. the line is located in most cases at one end of the ice maker and allows the water to flow into a funnel like device above the ice maker mold. the hose has the diameter of a penny, it is probably misaligned with the ice maker itself/

SOURCE: Ice maker bin indicator arm is stuck in the bin is full position

You should be able to move it gently to the lower position.  If it doesn't want to move don't force it.  Try shutting the ice maker off in case the arm is frozen in the up position.  After the ice maker defrosts a bit try again to move the arm gently.

Can this ice maker be set to make more ice? And faster?

Icemakers cycle cubes from the air temperature inside the freezer so you can't do much to increase speed except adjust the freezer control colder. As to the bucket not filling, most icemakers have a feeler arm or plastic paddle that is suppose to sense the ice level in the bucket. Make sure the feeler arm or paddle at the bottom is free and no sticking or hitting anything. It needs to move freely ask the icemaker dumps the cubes. If your refrigerator is less that a year old it should be under warranty and a free repair to you.

Two screws at front (need 1/4 nut driver to remove them). Then pull towards yourself and it will pop right off. Then you'll see a wired connection. Done! If you're wanting to replace the ice maker here is part# DA97-07603B (write it down :-)

And you can purchase here at link below!

Ice maker samsung imc 701 is making a sound like a gear is not catching when ice is ready to drop i would like to remove for repairs but dont know how to unplug unit

Remove the ice tray with auger. You will then see the actual ice maker.
There will be 1 white X head screw beneath it on the left side about 2 inces from the bottom of the tunnel. Remove that & then remove the white panel by moving the front of it enough to clear the side & it slides out toward you.
You will see where the cord connects to the fridge. Disconnect that.
At the top of the ice maker is a white tab, press that downward & pull the unit toward yourself to remove.
Reverse the process when replacing your new unit.
If you have GE Service do this, that will set you back almost $400, $65 for the service call, $200 for labor and $160ish for the icemaker. Search for part # IMC701 and save yourself some $$$.

Remove door and icemaker from bottom freezer model 59673914200 -- icemaker wont turn

The ice maker switch had come unattached due to excess ice buildup, and frozen to the ice pack. The ice in the ice maker had also frozen into a solid block due to not being able to rotate. After removing the drawer trays and protecting the frozen food, turning off the refridgerator, I used a hair drier to melt and remove the ice from the ice maker, gave it time to dry out, -- No gears wer stripped,- the ice maker now works normally.
