Negitive... I had the same problem.  I had to borrow my friends PC to Format!  But guess what!  1 Year Later and with SmartDisk out of business I was able to go back and copy the software!  Sweet! Feel free to use it from my site: http://yardenreport.blogspot.com/

SOURCE: My smartdisk Photobank PB80 dont

I am responding to you via my laptop running Windows 7 64-bit and my SmartDisk Photobank is fully operational.

This solved my related problem...and it may solve yours...please let me know if it does...

I had a similar problem (probably caused by deleting files within the device folders on my PC) and have searched tirelessly for a solution and had pretty much given up until I stumbled upon a link to the site below.

http://www.box.net/shared/i8dknblsuy#/shared/i8dknblsuy/1/25549066/265225700/1

SmartDisk_FAT32_tool.exe (392.0KB).

(Sorry don't know how or indeed if 'allowed' to attach files etc.)

I was dubious at first with so many previous false dawns and especially with concerns about security. Although I can't personally vouch for the site, the link or the downloads integrity, McAfee gave the site and links a 'green' bill of health, the laptop is still functioning fine and as it should (nothing malicious detected by various security software such as McAfee and Spybot S&D etc and most importantly the SmartDisk PhotoBank is once again fully operational; all in an instant with no ill-effects or anything untoward occurring.

I need to be able to d/l the windows XP 32 bit drivers for my Smartdisk PB80 photobank. All links online seem to point to diver wizard, which I have installed already. It is no help

Don't feel bad that was a hard driver to find. You should be able to download your driver here.

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Other-DRIVERS-TOOLS/Others/SmartDisk-PhotoBank-Driver.shtml

Hope that works for you. Don't forget to uninstall the old driver before installing the new one.

A friend formated my Photobank PB40 and now It will not recieve the photos when I try to download them, what can I do

You cannot reformat using Windows or your card reader will not longer work. You need to use the Fat32 formatting tool. It's still available on the Verbatim website (They bought SmartDisk)
http://www.verbatim.com/support/support.cfm?open=Downloads
Select-Hardware Storage-Portable Drives. You should see a heading on the right for Downloads. Select the Verbatim Fat32 download tool. Download the tool. Connect your PhotoBank to your computer with the mini-USB cable and then run the Fat32 tool you just downloaded. Follow the prompts to reformat the PhotoBank. Your card reader and hard drive will be good as new.

After deleting pictures I never get 40GB of memory space back

I found the same thing. Had to go to "my computer" , load up the photobank icon.

Click on the cards folder and then delete each folder.

THEN ,after clearing off the photobank, go to the desktop and empty the recycle bin. You will get the 40gigs back.

I have a Smartdisk PB80 PhotoBank

I have a pb80, and I found that it would not read SD above 2 g.
It reads a 2 g fine, but not a 4 g.
I also have a reader with the same problem. I replaced the reader with a different model, and it works fine. Planned obsolence.

Lossing firmware.because i format.digitalphotobank model PB#40 smartdisk

The Photobank must be formatted in FAT32 to work. If you formatted in any other format, go to http://sdkbase.smartdisk.com/display/2n/index.asp?c=cpc=e72ylkXWR8u0YnrbMviY&cpc=&cid=1&r=0.8182337

You will see a file on the right hand side... It is a short program that will reformat the drive in FAT32. Just follow the directions on the page

Hope this works for you/
