I have a singer serger 14SH654, I have threaded it ok, (checked and double checked), and it's sewing ok, but whenever I go to remove the item I'm sewing the "yellow" looper always thread always breaks,...

I try not to pull the threads when removing my fabric from the serger. Instead when the fabric has cleared the needles, continue to sew a chain of about 5-6 inches, then simply cut it with scissors leaving part of the chain attached to the fabric and the rest of the chain attached to the machine.

I have a Tiny Serger. The thread keeps coming out of the needle when I try to make a chain. What am I doing wrong?

first try changing the needles

make sure you have long thread tails and pull them behind the needle toward the back of the serger.

make sure there is no loose thread in the looper area

Tension off on serger

Is it the needle threads or the looper threads? The threading diagram is critical to follow, and make sure the tension discs are not stuck.

I don't have the manual for Singer serger model # 14U555 and cannot get it threaded correctly.

I couldn't find a link to anywhere to get the manual free, but it's available for purchase from Singer here. They do have a serger threading guide here that may be helpful.

Hope this helps a little. Thanks for usin Fixya!

Here is another singer threading manual
Should be the same.

Singer (white company) has a really good website.
You really want to reinvest in a manual for your machine, they really are a necessity.
Good Luck

The threads are not tight on my serger

Here is an easy way to get your thread adjusted. Rethread the machine using four different colors. Then sew and for example the "yellow" thread is loose on the fabric, you know to adjust the tension with the yellow thread. Also a good starting place on your dials is 4-3-2-1 from left to right. Start with the tension set there and then adjust as needed.
