It is not possible to use generic usb wireless adapters with the Xbox or Xbox 360 game console. By John AndersonJun 20, 2012 The post John Anderson is correct that this would not work with a XBOX device. These are intended for and installed on computers (laptop or desktop) with which you would need to install drivers for it on. There is supported drivers that will allow the installation of this device into either a XBOX or PlayStation gaming console. may find this page helpful. http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php...om_a_Bad_Fl ash Its not for the TP-Link
router but the same principle could be applied to you with the correct
firmware. Its worked for me on more than a few occasions. Providing you
can ping the router via a lan cable then the chances of recovering it
are very high.
You could purchase a ethernet print server which will allow you to connect your printer to the router via ethernet cable. I recommend the TPLink TL-PS110U. I use this for one of the printers in my office.
Alternatively, you could purchase the TPLink TL-WPS510U. This is a wireless print server. It will give you some freedom if you wish to locate your printer to somewhere other than beside your router.
Before you
connect any cables, turn off your router, modem, PC, and Xbox 360
console. (Unplug your modem from its power source to turn it off.)
Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your modem
and the other end to the Ethernet input port on the back of your
router.
With another Ethernet cable, connect one end to one
of the router's Ethernet output ports. Connect the other end to your
PC's Ethernet port.
With the third Ethernet cable, connect
one end to another of the router's Ethernet output ports. Connect the
other end to the Ethernet port on the back of the Xbox 360 console.
Turn on your modem, then your router, then your PC.
Make sure your PC can access the Internet. If not, you may need to
configure the router for Internet access. For help configuring the
router using your PC, check the instructions that came with the router.
Turn on your Xbox 360 console and sign in with your profile.
If this is the first time you've turned on your Xbox 360 console, see Create Your Gamer Profile to get started with both the Xbox 360 system and Xbox LIVE play.
If you're unable to connect to Xbox LIVE, you can try to diagnose the problem right on your console. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings, then select Network Settings (setup XBOX using Automatic Configuration DHCP), Test Xbox LIVE Connection.
Your XBOX 360 adapter should automatically be assigned an address by the router's DHCP server. I think you may be having a problem with your wireless configuration. Check the wireless settings on your router to confirm that it is indeed setup for WEP. If it is setup for WEP on bothe the router and the XBOX and the key is typed in correctly on the XBOX it should work. If it still doesn't however, disable the wireless security on your router, then restart your XBOX and see if it will connect without WEP. Many devices will have problems over WEP and not connect at all. If it connects fine with no security enabled then we will know that was the problem and I would sugest changing the security to WPA.
Console-to-Console Connection: Wireless
Some Xbox games offer console-to-console, or system-link, play, in which two or more players (depending on the game) can wirelessly network their consoles for multiplayer use.
Console-to-console wireless networks are also known as ad-hoc networks. In ad-hoc networks, a wireless adapter on one device connects directly to a wireless adapter on another device. An Internet connection isn't shared with this type of network, and the console-to-console connection is typically temporary.
For console-to-console play, you need:
Two Xbox 360 consoles.
Two Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapters.
An Xbox 360 game that supports system link play.
To wirelessly connect your console to another console:
Attach an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to the back of each console as described in Use Your Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter.
On each console, go to the System area to enter your network settings. (They will be the same for each console.)
If all settings are correct, exit the System area. The consoles should now be wirelessly connected to each other.
