When the car is cool it will crank up, but when itget hot it shut off and wont crack backup

Does it crank and wont start, or does it not even crank over when hot? If it still cranks, if the starter cranks the engine over, then check for spark when it won't start. If you have no spark, something in your ignition system may get hot and fail-something like the crank position sensor, or the ignition control module.

Peugeot 206 problems

  • Yes, possibly the water got up around ignition parts or electrical connections that are giving you problems. Have the engine computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. If the engine light was on, it should have set a code.

Hi, Anonymous the following applies to carbureted also fuel injected models and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or damaged battery, 9 volts or lower.

3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Failed main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Failed system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Failed ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
7. Failed CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.
9. Air/fuel mixture screw improperly adjusted.
10. Water or dirt in the fuel system, carburetor or filter.
11. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
12. Fuel tank empty.
13. Gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
14. A failed fuel pump, pressure regulator and or fuel injectors.
15. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.

What's the mag or coiul on a generac 6500 generator 13 hp

The "mag" is a magneto and it generates the high voltage pulse to fire the spark plug. The "coil" is about the same thing but it uses a set of points or an electronic ignition to control when the spark is delivered.

My 12 hp tecumseh engine will run till it get hot

Hi. Follow the wires from the oil sensor to the On off switcfh. It sounds like you have have a wire that is grounding as the plastic coating get hot. Check the black wire from the electronic ignition tie plug off the module to the oil sensor for signs of chaffing. If the problem persists try disconnection ONE wire from the oil sensor and see if it will start. If it starts then either the engine is low on oil or the oil level sensor is bad.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Craftman 18hp briggs @srat starts then cut off when it gets hot

I hope all that time and money was worth it - there are classic symptoms of a blocked gas cap vent. Vacuum forms in tank - no fuel flow - engine stalls. Wait a bit - air leaks in, engine starts again (for a while.....).

To completely elimnate a chassis wiring issue, simply disconnect the mag cable from the engine. The only possible culprit if there are still electrical problems is the coil itself - which you already replaced.
