Fix it, but the longer you let it run the more damage done, search your area for your local pool pump repair guy with free testing,
some of these pumps can be CRAZY expensive NEW but cheap to fix/rebuild/repair/bearings. FYI

Well, something is wrong. Either the pump or the wiring from the switch to the pump. Pull the pump and take it to a motor shop and have them check it out.

There is no polarity associated with the leads in an AC system. You simply have 2 hot wires and you can hook either one to either Line 1 or Line 2. Motor rotation is not dictated by the connection arrangement of these leads. Ground the motor with the grounding wire and again with the bond wire if one is present.

You can remove the riser that is positioned under the motor to allow for a 56 size stator to fit in place of the 48 size stator the original Hayward (AOSmith) motor was.

SOURCE: how to replace the seal on a amerson 1081 pool

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

What brand is your pump? Emerson and 1081 are motor related pieces of information. In general the process is the same for any brand...Disassemble the pump, lock the motor shaft at the end opposite the pump, spin off the impeller, replace both halves of the seal and assemble in reverse order. If you need more specific directions, please comment with the brand and model of your pump.

SOURCE: where can i order the impeller (center dish cover)

The impellers for the motor depends on the actual brand of pump that the motor is actually bolted up to. Impellers are available anywhere and once you can let us know what the actual model of the pump (should be a Hayward, Jandy, or it may be an off brand) we can not only provide you with the part number, but also a location where to purchase. What is probably happening is that you are searching for the impeller for an emerson, instead of looking for the imepller for the appropriate pump.

Emerson pool spa pump leaking water-how to change gaskets

Emerson is not the name of the pump, that's the brand of the motor attached to the wet end, and the two together make a pump.
1081/1563 only means that it meets the standards for a pool motor.
provide make and model, for your pump.

What Emerson model, serial and or catalogue number do you have? 1081 is the basic and generic code indicating that it meets the standards for a pool motor, that's all.

Emerson 1081

The 1081 is the designation for a motor that can run continuously (all pool pump motors have that). The motors are generally not cost effective to be repaired.

But, if you are looking for is the manual for the PUMP, see if you can see any identification on the part of the pump that the motor is attached to. Then it should be easy to find.
