SOURCE: cooling light on?

The cooling light is always on, it flashes when it is in that part of the cycle, sounds like he put it in to a test mode. Was it a thermistor that he changed?
No heat, sounds to me like a thermostat might be blown. Call the guy back, if you haven't already.

it sounds like a clog in vent.if yours vents up thru roof you may need to have a chimney sweep come out and sweep vent.check and make sure the vent hose is net kinked or full of lint.

SOURCE: dryer heats, tumbles clothes, blows air out exhause vent, but wont dry clothes

what type is this electric or gas? have you removed the exsaust from the wall and ran a load like this? if you have heat and this is an electric dryer it sounds like you have a blockage in your house. if the dryer runs fine without the exsaust attached then that is your problem. let me know

Most likely a wheel bearing on the tub of a front loading washer, or the belt tensioner pulley on a top load washer. Either is not fixed by lubrication but replacement is called for. There are usually 3-4 wheels on front loaders that could be out. Replace all of them if you are going to replace one. The belt tensioner is a single assembly that can be ordered from any appliance parts warehouse or Sears.

80 series kenmore gas dryer. Won't dry clothes. Igniter glows, gas valve opens, flame lights. Stays on for about 45 seconds then flame shuts off. About 1 minute later it lights again but it doesn't stay on...

Did you get a solution yet? - our dryer is doing the same exact thing....last time it was not lighting at all and we found out it was the thermal fuse - very cheap fix...this time the symptoms are exactly as you described.

Kenmore Series 80 gas dryer, clothes take 3 hours to dry

Hello, This problem is going to be your safety valve coils...basically they get old and over time of heating then cooling develop a short when they heat up...It may appear the gas lights to start but then goes out until the safety valve coils cool back down. Here is a picture of the coils 57d5263.jpgThis The coils are mounted to the gas safety valve, This should solve your problem. Hope this helps, Please feel free to comment again if you have any further questions or concerns. Good Luck! Mike

If clothes are wet then no heat. if clothes kinda dry then heat at first then no heat

Hello Friend, If the burner on your gas dryer is igniting the first few times producing heat in the early part of the drying cycle and then Doesn't ignite the remainder of your drying cycle, It's pretty safe to say that you need to replace the valve coils. Here's general information pertaining to the replacement of your valve coils: Your problem is very simple to fix. You're dryer needs a gas valve coil kit. To replace coils just remove front of dryer body and look below drum you will see the gas valve. The valve coils are located on top of valve (two little round black cylinders). It's simple, just remove the two screws from the little metal bracket that holds them down, unplug the wires from them and just lift them straight up off of the valve. Take notice that one has 3 wires and one has 2 wires. Just replace with new coils and plug wires back in and re-fasten metal bracket. Your dryer will run like new. Happy to help, Tim. And please don't forget to give me your rating for my help. Thanks!

Clothes won't dry, works sometime.

Either a bad flame sensor or bad coils on the gas valve assembly.

Kenmore 70 Series

The most likely cause is a bad ignitor part number 279311. It has to glow to open the valve and ignite the gas. You should hear a loud click when you first start the dryer. That tells us there is voltage to the gas valve.

Gas never ignites in any cycle in a 10yr old Kenmore dryer.

Chances are your igniter has gone bad. It must pull atleast 3.2 amps to open the gas valve and ignite the gas. A new igniter could probably purchased for 20 or 30 dollars.

No heat

If the burner assembly is not lighting I would recommend you look into an igniter replacement. If the igniter is worn, or does not work at all, the gas safety valve will not open and you'll never get ignition. The part number is 279311.

If the burner assembly lights, then goes out after a few minutes, I would recommend you replace the gas valve solenoids. There are two of them on the burner assembly. It is recommended that you replace BOTH of them at the same time. The part numbers are 69540 and 69539. Searspartsdirect.com has an excellent illustration of your dryer. Just type in your model number and look under the "Burner Assembly" heading. The igniter is listed as item 4. The solenoids are items 13 and 14.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this is helpful to you.

Gas ignites but goes out after 15 or 20 seconds

Hello gdurawa
Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

You said, upon starting my Kenmore gas dryer the igniter glows and the gas ignites, but the gas goes out after 15 or 20 seconds - clothes don't dry.

This means either the igniter is bad and not getting hot enough to make the gas continue to release completely and stay open, so it shut off.
or you have a bad gas module.
Or a bad gas valve without enough pressure.
Needs to be diagnosed hands on at your location .
