I have a Comdial Impact 8024 S - the OVM light keeps blinking even though there are NO New or stored messages. I have already unplugged the phone at the wall and from the phone itself and left off for over a half hour. HELP!

If you have listened to all messages on the answering machine, then this is the "tone" that the phone company sends out for those people who have paid voicemail with the carrier.

Page 41 of the manual - "if the handset still indicates there are new messages even after you ahve listened to all new messages, turn it off by pressing and holding [OFF] until the handset beeps.

Page 40 of the manual - "Turn VM tone detection on/off - the default setting is "ON" 1. [Menu], then press #332 then choose [OFF] - now when the phone company sends a tone out to your phone it will be ignored.

Try this:

This will turn off the msg light for that instance only.

Dial Intercom (lower left button) and dial #409 or just 409, and it may take more than once.
