How to fix a Dell Monitor that just flashes the power light or also flashes the screen on and off very fast. In this video I repair my E178FPb with this problem. In my video, I show how to take it apart, recognize the problem, and replace the parts. I ordered the parts off Mouser and it only cost around $6 with shipping. The problem was visual and I found 2 electrolytic capacitors bulging and a ceramic capacitor burnt.

I don't know what you're referring to, but here is something i think it might be...
1. Power on the monitor.
2. Press and hold the MENU button for at least 15 seconds.
3. Look to see if an UNLOCK icon appears on the screen.
4. Release the MENU button and wait 5 seconds.
5. Press any button on the monitor to test.
6. Turn off the monitor if it is no longer needed.

The second button from the left on the bottom corner by the power button is the brightness button. If you press it the brightness menu is pop up on the screen. With the menu up you just use the three buttons on the left to select the function and the increase or decrease the brightness and contrast on the monitor. BuddyMc
