If you are handy with small electrics, or know someone who is...

I had a similar problem and just solved it.
My cooler was leaking and had trouble keeping the proper temperature.
It was also making a buzzing sound which is what lead me to my solution.
BTW - The liquid that was leaking was condensation, probably because the unit was not holding a constant temperature.

Unplug the unit first - no need to get electrocuted.
These units use peltier cooling- essentially a large heat sink with three fans attached.
Click here for more info regarding peltier cooling.
The peltier unit is not repairable, but the fans are; which was what my problem was.
There are three fans on this unit, one on the inside and two on the outside.
Follow these steps to remove them.

  1. Remove the rear cover. It is held on with ten screws. This exposes the two exterior fans and the peltier heat sink
  2. The heat sink is held on with four screws - remove them and pull the heat sink out. The third fan is on a short wire lead, so be careful when removing the heat sink from the body of the cooler.
  3. The two exterior fans are connected to a control panel, the electrical connection is easy to disconnect.
  4. Once all of the wires have been disconnected, you can remove the fans from the heat sink.
  5. The fans are screwed to a mounting plate, which is screwed to the heat sink
  6. You must remove the mounting plate first to expose the screws that hold the fan to the mounting plate. The fans are typical computer case cooling fans
  7. I only needed one fan, but replaced all three because I didn't want to do this job again.
  8. I purchased my fans from Newark.com the prices were better than what I found at the computer websites. Also, these fans are much better than the original and will hopefully last much longer than the three I got from the old ones.
  9. You need one of these and two of these. The total with shipping was around $30
  10. You will need to splice the old electrical connection sockets onto the new fans using wire crimpers or solder them on.
  11. Attach the components in reverse order and power on the unit.
  12. These fnas may move more air than the originals, because the unit seemed to cool much quicker than I remember.
  13. Total time for repair is about 45 minutes
Hope this helps and Good Luck

SOURCE: danby wine cooler compresser not running and is hot

The compressor needs to be tested to see if it's operational. This normally needs to be done by a service tec.

Hi. I have a Dihl WF-21SS Reviews and the temperature LEDs doesn't display correctly. Can it be fixed???

Hello,

Here are the possible solutions if they don't fix it, you will want to find the authorized repair company as it is a control board issue.

1. Remove all your wine and beer and place it in your regular refrigerator.
2. Unplug this refrigerator and leave it alone for 24 - 48 hours.
3. Go purchase a refrigerator thermometer and put in in the refrigerator.
3. Plug the refrigerator back in and set it to the temp you like to keep it at. Do not put anything back into the refrigerator yet.
4. Check the temp of the refrigerator against the refrigerator thermometer - it is not unusual for the thermometers to be a couple of degrees in difference. If everything is acceptable, only place the wine back on the racks, leave the beer in the other refrigerator. Let it run for a week and see if it stays balanced.
Or - if upon initial check you find the two thermometers not agreeing you can do one of two things.
A. Best option - contact authorized repair and have them come fix it.
B. Leave the refrigerator thermometer in the fridge and adjust the display panel until the temp in the refrigerator is where you want it on the refrigerator thermometer.
C. Dispose or replace the refrigerator.
Note: I don't suggest overloading your refrigerator.

The original owner's manual is available here (I believe the last two letters designate the finish for example SS = stainless steel).

Vinotemp wine cooler just stop working.

Ok check the power supply input. Assume you have do e that and all ok. More than likely it could be a thermostat or compressor gas leakage. Has the compressor been running more than usual before it gave up working. Check for rust on the internal coils as sometimes they fail. Depending on what you paid for the wine cooler it may be cheaper to simply replace it. Can highly recommend Delongi 145
litre bar fridge, after replacing several cheaper brands and it is very reliable and cools really well though they are not at the cheap end of the market. You get what you pay for with appliances. Best of luck resolving the problem but if the wine cooler no longer is getting cold but the compressor continues to run, you can bet that it's out if gas from a leak in the internal pipe work and generally not worth attempting to either locate and or repair.

Power supply failing on Cuisinart CWC 1600 cooler

The hayni made in china internal power supply has faulty transformers on it that fail within anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. Solution. Remove the back panel, take out the internal power supply and replace it with another compatible AC 120v to 12v DC 5amp power supply. Often laptop power adapters will work. I used this one: 60w-12v-5A-AC-DC-Power-Adapter from the website mini-box and it only cost 15 dollars. The peltier pad draws upwards of 5amps, but the rest of the system is super lower power. Now my wine cooler is more energy efficient and and will run for at least 5-10 years. This power supply replacement takes about 20 minutes. You need: philips screw driver, wire cutter and stripper, two 16 guage wire nuts. That's it.

Wine Enthusiast 16-bottle thermoelectric wine refrigerator DEAD

usually bad power supply, if the cooling fan isn't running either. These are horribly inefficient coolers that use a lot of power to accomplish little cooling. The power supplies are quite notorious to burn up.

If your supply is 12vdc output, you might be able to replace it with a supply from radio shack. dont use a battery charger though.

Wine cooler Doesn't work

I had the same issue on a Whynter WC28S SNO 28 Bottle Wine Cooler, it even seems like most of the thermoelectric wine coolers, fridges, and such have the same boards by hanny. For cross refference parts I used NTE because Fry's Electronics had them.
Switching transistors - NTE51
1N 4007 - NTE125
Silicon Dual Power Rectifier - NTE6090

Also I have a venotemp wine cooler that has pretty much the same board, with the same plugs for fans, light, control panal, and cooler fan for $45 shipped at their site under replacement parts. Hope this helps people looking for info on this. Also research Switching Power Supply issues for information.
