Hi, George in order to check out any main system electrical circuit, you have to start with a fully charged battery 12.5 volts or better, and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
1. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
2. Check the voltage drop at the battery when you hit the starter button, anything below 9 volts you might have a faulty battery.
3. Check voltage at the battery with the bike running at 3,600 RPM should be 14.3 to 14.7 volts. If you are not getting these numbers, you might have a faulty voltage regulator.
4. Make sure voltage regulator is grounded and functioning properly, watch the video below on how to test a voltage regulator.
5. Unplug the connector to the alternator and hook your multimeter leads to the alternator (pin/socket selection does not matter) set the multimeter to AC volts, at an idle the meter should read 16 to 20 volts AC. at 2,000 RPM 32 to 40 AC volts, 3,000 RPM 48 to 60 AC volts. If you are not getting these numbers, you may have a faulty rotor, follow step 6
6. Set the multimeter to OHM'S, connect one lead to the alternator (any pin/socket) and the other to a ground, the meter should read infinity. Connect both leads to the alternator meter should read 0.1 to 0.2 OHM'S. If you are not getting these numbers, you have a bad stator.
7. Check all wiring in the charging circuit for worn or chaffed spots and all wiring connectors in the circuit for corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets, which is the # 1 offender.

older batteries or not fully charged batteries can cause distorted RX. if your batteries are more than 2 yrs old they should be replaced. also dirt or moisture in the radio speaker, or trying to talk beyond their Range can also cause distorted RX. you use most of your power when you transmit.

My bike dies while riding.....i charge it all night.....battery not being charged while riding....is this the stator or regulator or battery?


Hi, Gotcha5269 in order to check out any main electrical system, you have to start with a fully charged battery 12.5 volts or better, and be able to pass a load test if necessary. "WARNING" never plug or unplug any electrical connector with the engine running !!!
1. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
2. Check the voltage drop at the battery when you hit the starter button, anything below 9 volts you might have a faulty battery.

My battery drains when i put on my head lamps. What might have caused this problem?

When my acer aspire 5734z laptop is plugged in the charger indicator flashes and the battery indicator shows blue.it stays at 0% and says plugged in,not charging.if i unplug the charger it shuts down. need...


Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

My BOSS Distortion(DS-1) pedal buzzes whenever the distortion is up. I've changed the battery, outlet, and amp, but it continues to sound. I tried a different pedal, and it worked fine. How can I stop it...


This sounds like a broken ground wire or trace within the unit if an IDENTICAL pedal does not act the same AT THE SAME SETTINGS.

Sometimes a circuit trace gets broken on the board inside pedals and can cause this.

Since an identical pedal doesn't have the problem, service is required.

If you know electronics you can open the pedal and look for obvious problems.

HINT: Use a bright LED penlight to "candle" the circuit board to look for cracks.

Look for broken solder joints... this can take an experienced eye to spot.

A distortion pedal NORMALLY is very simple circuitry.

ur camera may be on service advisory list just mail the fuji film with serial number i am pretty sure they will repair free of charge it is a manufacturing fault in some units manufactured b4 2005 u have to email them they will repair it free of charge
