What make and model of engine is it? Inboard, outboard? Petrol, diesel? How long does it run before it cuts out? Does it get hot or does it stop while still cold? It sounds like a petrol supply problem, but the cause could be electric or fuel. A fuel restriction such as clogged filter could do it, but an electrical fault could also do it as the temperature increases. I tend to think it's more likely fuel though but don't have enough info. I'll look out for your reply

you don`t say how you know it has fuel. did you check the fuel pressure with a gage and did you check the fuel volume as well. this sounds like a fuel pump problem.

Engine runs full throttle and won't throttle down

Try grabbing the governor arm coming out of the side of the engine where the throttle linkage comes from, can you manually slow the engine down with that? Is it stuck?

have you left the choke open ? this mixes more fuel to the engine upon starting but will stall it if left open too long . check your fuel filter too it may be full of debris.

My 1994 kawasaki 750 ss jet ski will only go half speed when I have the throttle wide open?

Is it bogging down, or just stops revving at the point...first check the throttle cable, twist it wide open and make sure it's opening all the way...after awhile they tend to stretch and that won't allow you full power....i hope this helps.

Friend has a 200 hp EFI oil injected 2 Stroke outboard on a ski boat and is experiencing power restrictions when he opens throttle up. Motor will not do this if throttle slowly opened but again when at...

I run a 175 Evinrude set up similar to this one.
If there are no warning lights or warning beeps you will have a restricted fuel filter or fuel line.
The reason you can throttle up slowly is because it takes less fuel flow to get to that point that way.
And at full throttle it takes more fuel flow to maintain speed.
If there are warnings you will need to get it scanned to find out the cause and have it repaired. Warnings can slow down the engine to help prevent engine damage.

It sounds like your throttle cable is caught up with the brake pedal.
