SOURCE: how do you reset to factory settings on a Dell

Only way to do this would be to do a "system restore" without disks you can only hope you have restore points setup... run system restore from control panel and find out..

if no restore points contact dell for a restore disk.. remember the system restore without disks will not remove viruses or other harmful files..

SOURCE: how do i reset my dell latitude d620 to factory

If your laptop still has a recovery partition installed, you can press Ctrl + F11 at startup to enter restore mode. If not, you will need to insert your Dell Operating System Recovery CD and press F12 at startup to boot from CD and reinstall Windows. This will also wipe your drivers. If you do not have a Dell Drivers CD you can download them before hand from http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=GuidedPathHomePage and simply enter your service tag or model number. I have a dell e5420 on booting it brings a white screen display but when connected to an external monitor it display properly what can i do cheers

Hi omovik,

Good observation on the external monitor piece. Check if the notebook display works fine when you enter BIOS (F2 during start-up) or during diagnostics (Fn+Power). If the issue persists on these steps then it's a faulty LCD. Do keep me updated on the status.

Thanks and Regards.
