SOURCE: front loading whirlpool machine WFS1072AW which needs pump clean

WFS1072AW has a clip in panel at the bottom across the front.
Removing this will reveal a black plug on the right.
Unscrew this and water will gush out along with (hopefully) the offending coins.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Washing Machine won't drain after pump is cleaned and there are no blockages

see the causes and remedies:God bless you

Drain Pump Filter
This is the most common problem. Some have a small cover in the lower front put a screwdriver in the hole and turn counterclockwise to remove. There will be a cover to remove, water will come out so be prepared with a towel or wet vac. Clean this out. Other Machines will need to access the drain pump to get to the filter. This can be done by removing the back panel on some washers. On others you will need to remove the lower panel or complete front panel depending on model. The filter is located inside the large hose from the tub to the pump. Remove the hose and clean filter.

Drain Pump
The drain pump may have failed. If you hear it making noises you will need to remove the drain pump and check for obstructions, broken impeller, or not spinning freely. Remove obstructions if it does not spin freely replace the drain pump. If you hear it hum replace the pump if nothing is found inside. If no noise is heard check the pump for power. To do this remove the wire connectors and connect a voltmeter turn to a drain cycle, refer to tech sheet or service manual for proper voltage reading, usually any voltage would probally indicate a faulty pump. If no voltage to the pump replace the main control board.

Hoses
Check the hoses from the pump by disconnecting them and make sure there are no obstructions. Check your hoes drain, if it is a slow drain this can cause your washer to not properly drain.

You probably have either a bad gearcase, timer, or lid switch. Defective motor is also possible.

Hi,maybe the draw dispencer is damaged,I wouldnt think it is the drum seal, what I would do is tilt the washing machine so that the top of the machine is leaning against the wall so that the front of the machine is of the ground, then while you get underneath the front on the floor with a torch get someone to put water in the dispencer and see if you can see where the water is leaking from,I hope this was some help, all the best.

Where is the filter in my wirlpool washing machine model no. wfs1072aw and how do I clean it

Hello, Erica.

Your washing machine's filter is located behind the kickpanel (or, 'plinth', as they call it in Oz) underneath the door. First, unplug the machine (or otherwise disconnect it from electricity. To remove this panel, grasp it on both sides and press downward and tilt it forward.

The filter is to be opened slowly as water will come out. Tucking a towel underneath the drain may help. The filter unscrews counter-clockwise. When you get it open, check that the pump is spinning freely. Also, if your machine is not draining, a coin or something small may be blocking the drain pipe (a US quarter or Australian fifty cent piece is a perfect fit to totally block the pipe).

When you are done, add 1 quart (liter) of water to the detergent dispenser.

You can read all of the instructions for this (on page 11 of the .pdf download) here:

http://www.whirlpool.com.au/app.cnt/whr/au_AU/pageid/pgsrvifuhome001

Enter your model number in the box.

Good luck from Detroit, MI, USA.

Whirlpool washing machine "clean pump" error light.

take top off machine. look down right side and you will see a disc about 50 mm in diameter, attached to this is a small flexible rubber pipe, take this off at the disc and blow through it,( you will need some type of pipe to connect to the rubber pipe).this worked for me with the very same problem.
