SOURCE: Samsung yp-p3 firmware upgrade

Place the bin just inside the P3(not in any of the folders) and then disconnect from the computer and power it back on. It will check the firmware and turn on and off a time or two. When it's off and doesn't turn back on power it back on yourself and you're done.

You can check your FW version by going to settings>about on your P3.

SOURCE: RCA LCD l46wd22 failed firmware upgrade

You probably want to contact RCA technical support. As far as I know though there is no force that you can do and most likely you will have to replace the main board. Anyway contact RCA technical support. Was there a particular reason you were updating the software?

SOURCE: I have a samsung tv

I have only done this once with a tv, but the procedure was to format the thumb drive, and copy the file to the thumb drive. If there is more than just the firmware file on the thumb drive, the upgrade will not work. Try formatting the thumb drive and starting over.

My 3600 won't play certain blue ray movies seems to be disney specific blue rays. I don't know what the latest firm ware or driver is or what the solution is to this problem ?

Hello brdog -

There was a firmware upgrade for this player (version 2.15) released on February 25th. Your problem is most likely related to the firmware and the update should solve your problem. You need to visit the following Samsung support page for the BD-P3600 and download both the upgrade file and the upgrade guide:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/BD-P3600

On this page, you need to click on the link for 'Firmware'.belectric_165.jpg
This will give you a list of four files. The top two are the update file and the update guide for installing from a USB thumbdrive / memory stick. The bottom two are the same files but for installing from a CD. The update files are zipped and need to be unpacked first then copied to CD or USB for installation on the player.

Please download the relevant files depending on whether you intend to install from USB or CD and then let me know which you are using if you need further assistance. I will be happy to explain any of the instructions in detail, but I suggest you read the upgrade guide first.

Hope this helps. You can reply to me by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question.

Regards,
BElectric

I have tried downloading from the samsung website lastest firmware update, which is an iso file when extracted it saves it to disc as a xuf file and the blu ray wont read this what am i doing wrong??

Read the Upgrade Guide (PDF) for instructions on how to do this. It says to burn a CD. The ZIP file extracts to ISO type. The guide tells you what format it needs.

2) Burning Options (in case of using Nero Burning ROM)
A. ‘Recorder’ menu ?? ‘Burn Image…’ ?? Select an uncompressed image file(*.iso)
B. Please check ‘Finalize CD (No further writhing possible!)’
C. Please refer to your own CD burning Program Manual if you want to use any other
CD burning program for burning ISO image file.
D. Make sure if the downloaded software is eligible for your BD-P1400.
E. The System Upgrade will not be executed if using the update CD made with NOT
following the upper procedures.
Warning
The following events may interrupt the upgrade process and MAY RESULT IN PERMANENT
DAMAGE TO THE UNIT WHILE UPGRADING.

6. Press ‘Enter’ button to choose ‘Yes’ for upgrade and please remove the disc on the tray.

I dont know how to install the firmware for my mp4 i really need help

Hello,

Do you have the CD for the SMPK8858 ?

Then put the CD into the CD drive or DVD drive of your computer and explore the CD, for the firmware update look under:
\Firmware Upgrade tool\ConsumerUpdate 3.1.2.0\setup.exe
1. explore or double click folder Firmware Upgrade tool
2. explore or double click folder ConsumerUpdate 3.1.2.0
3. run or double click file setup.exe: this will start the installation of the update software on your computer.

After the installation of the setup.exe file, run the firmware update program to start the update for your player.

Most Sylvania players will have a CD provided. When you don't have it, download the driver (a zip file) from Curtis:
http://www.curtisint.com/html/CustService/Manuals/SYL_SMPK8858_DRIVER.ZIP
After the download unzip the file with WinZip or WinRar:
now look for the firmware installation program under
SYL_SMPK8858_DRIVER \ SMPK8858 \ Firmware Upgrade tool\ConsumerUpdate 3.1.2.0 \ setup.exe
Double click the setup.exe, the same procedure as when using the CD.

There is also a manual for SPMK8858 (a pdf file) online:
http://www.curtisint.com/html/CustService/Manuals/SYL_SMPK8858_EN.PDF

Upgrading firmware

If your computer is plugged directly into the router and cannot get online, disconnect your router and plug your computer directly into your cable or DSL modem. Step 2: Once you are able to get online, click here to go to the WRT54G Version 5 Download page. Step 3: Click Download to download the firmware file. Approx. file size (Zip file): 1.39 MB If you are using Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Internet Explorer, you may see a 'Pop-up blocked' message in your browser Information Bar. If so, click the bar and select Temporarily Allow Pop-ups. Then, click the Download link again. Step 4: Click Save in the File Download dialog box that appears. Step 5: In the Save As dialog box, choose a location for the file (like the Desktop) and click Save. The wrt54gv5_fw_1[1].00.6_US_code.zip file will then be downloaded. Step 7: On the Firmware Upgrade page, click Browse. Browse to the location where the firmware files were extracted, and select the wrt54gv5_fw_1.00.6_US_code file. When the file is selected, click Open. Step 8: Click the Upgrade button on the Firmware Upgrade page to start the upgrade.
