SOURCE: p5ld2-vm problem

go to "bios settings" by pressing "delete" key or F2 at the system start up time .. after going in to bios then search for the options load optimal defaults ....then save it and exit ..
after that restart ...

now have a check if your problem persists then the processor which you have choosed might not support the motherboard specification the frequency of the processor is higher than the specified rate .. check here for the details of the processor which supports your motherboard

If your over clocking your CPU settings reset to default. See if you still get the error. If you still get the error than update your bios. There are a couple of way to do this. You can use the software on your Asus CD or you can down load the latest BIOS-Utilities, Afudos BIOS update tool V2.36. Than download the bios file, P5PE-VM BIOS 1501.

Using built-in EZ Flash to flash BIOS Please be informed that not all motherboards support EZ Flash,
please use DOS flash utility to update BIOS if your motherboard does not support EZ Flash; http://support.asus.com/technicaldocuments/technicaldocuments.aspx?no=960&SLanguage=en-us

Sounds as though you need to update the bios to correctly identify the CPU.
Go to the Asus site and download Bios rev 1501.

Best of luck

Is my cmo s battery goin bad?because every time i start my computer the time is always reset, and also detect error cpu fan.

Yes. If the time is off, the CR2032 battery is probably bad. The battery is located near the PCI port. CPU fan error, is a different issue though. The fan may need replacement. Verify the fan is running and not full of dirt.

Does not boot up, fans start, internet plugs light, clicks on and off.....seems this is a common problem for these machines, what is the fix?

Instructions
  1. When you press the Power button to start the boot process, the LED lights glow while the computer verifies that there is sufficient electrical power to activate the hardware.

Effect & Solution: When you press the power button, the LED lights on the computer do not glow or the LEDs blink briefly and then stop. There is no sound of the fan or hard drive spinning, and the screen remains blank. The computer will not start if there is insufficient battery or AC adapter power.
  2. The BIOS queries various hardware components used for the startup boot process.

Effect & Solution: When you press the power button, the LEDs glow but there is no fan or hard drive sound. The LEDs may glow briefly and then go out.

    Or

The LED lights blink, stop, and then blink a second or third time, but there is no sound from the computer and the screen remains blank. The sequence of the blinking lights indicates a specific error code.

    Or

A series of beeping tones is heard. The sequence of beeping tones indicate a specific error code.

If a hardware component has recently been replaced, or if the PC has been jarred or shaken, there may be a loose connection to the memory chips or hard drive which prevents the computer from starting.
  3. The BIOS loads the basic input (keyboard) and output (advanced LEDs / display screen / boot drives) devices into memory.

Effect & Solution: When you press the power button, the LEDs glow, the fan or hard drive sounds, are heard, but then the boot process stops and a black screen - with an error message - displays.

The boot check has detected a communication error or conflict with a hardware component that must be corrected.
  4. The BIOS loads the Windows operating system and starts the services that allow low-level control of all of the background operations.

Effect & Solution: When you press the power button, the LEDs glow, the fan or hard drive sounds, are heard, the HP or Compaq Logo displays on a black screen, but then the boot process stops and a blue screen - with an error message - displays.

The boot check has detected a hardware driver error or a software conflict that must be corrected.
  5. Control is transferred to the Windows loader to initiate the display of the advanced settings in the Windows environment.

The Windows logo displays during this step.

Effect & Solution: When you press the power button, the computer performs all the steps in the boot process, but after the Windows Logo displays, the moving Windows progress bar or the rotating cursor stops moving and the boot process stops.

An error message may display on a screen with the Windows logo. In some instances, there is no specific error message.

    Or

A black screen appears and the computer attempts to restart.

The Windows self-check has detected a software conflict that must be corrected.

CPU overvoltage error"

Hi

Did n't you just post in hardware about flashing the BIOS?
Did you enter the BIOS & check the cpu voltage setting to make sure it's correct?
Actually, after the flash you probably should have used the ClearCMOS jumper to reset the BIOS,
then ran thru ALL the settings & manually adjust them for best performance.

My unit was replaced by asus mother board P5PE-vm and there is an error message, intel cpu uCode loading error. how do i get rid of this error? it is pissed seeing this error

If you don't ask Asus will not do it for you.
You can either call Asus and ask for an updated bios, (they charge about $6.00 not including shipping) or you can update the bios you're self. Everything you need to flash the bios is on their web site;
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=k3h0ZFVu9Lo1dUvk&content=download
The last three bios updates are for support new CPUs.

Cheers'

System restarts automatically

1st) I would suggest disconnect EVERYTHING from the motherboard. Keep keyboard, mouse and of cause the monitor.turn on....wait your 10-15 minutes, play with the keyboard, flutzz with the mouse..
Nothing happens,TURN OFF cpu, add ONE other device, continue doing the same thing until something happens after a device is installed, that could be your problem. 2nd) your turning on and off the power supply could cause it to crash, then THAT is your problem.too Low or too high power supply voltages causes your cpu to reset in order to protect itself {By forcing the power supply to "crase & burn" u forced the issue.
