Sides of copies are cut off, and are only 5.5 inches wide

When I try to copy an 8.5 X 11 original, the copies are only 5.5 inches wide, but 11 inches long. The 3 inches on the right side of the page are cut off. Thanks, Lee

right side of copes are cut off @ 100 %. How do I adjust paper size? I only use 81/2 x11 and have not had a problem. there is no width adjustment or give on either side where you load the paper.?

I understand leap 27's suggestion... however, I think the tab in question is loose on my machine. I just took the back encasing off to see if fitting it would become obvious. Not. It can come out of the casing completely.

    Any ideas how to fix?

    Much thanks!

The answer given does not explain enough. The paper feed tray, when inserted and in place and is set for 8 !/2 by 11 paper has an adjustment for paper size. You can slide it over for smaller width paper. That part that slides rests against a tab in the back that senses the position of the paper size adjustment slider. Pull the paper tray out and latch onto that tab and pull it up. You should hear a click. Put the paper tray back into place and you should get the full wide copied. I could find nothing on this in the owner's manual.

Seven years later and you still helped some one with this problem. You nailed it, exactly! Problem was that my tab was completely dislodged and it took me a while to figure out how to put it back in place. But it worked! THANKS!

What causes a line down the middle of copied pages

There is something on your scan glass. My guess is you are getting the line on your copies when you run the original through the document feeder. If you get lines through the document feeder but not on copies made off the glass then it is a dirty scan glass. There is a thin glass strip where the document feeder feeds the original. Usually something like white out that did not dry smears off an original and ends up on this thin strip of glass. Scratch it off with your finger nail and use some glass cleaner to resolve the problem. The scan glass is about 1/2 an inch to an inch wide and will be on the same side of the machine that the copier feeds the originals in on.

Black line is present when copying document; not

This sounds as if you have some ink/contamination on the small scaning glass that sits to either the left or right of the main glass on the copier.(Depending on the model/make)As your original is scanned over this thin piece of glass the scanning device will see any spots and this will result in a black line down the page. Please clean the glass with a soft rag.

While trying to copy a letter on a kodak 5100 easyshare the page prints out with a yellow strip about 2 inches wide down the entire right side length of the page . Why is it doing this?

Try this one, Turn on the printer, Take out the inks, remove the printhead, put back the printhead make sure it will snap and you hear a click, put the inks back, wait for the printer to initialize, Press the Menu button, look for Calibrate printer, then print calibration page, then scan it after. Load a regular paper. Then try to print a demo page by pressing Photo and Copy at the same for 5 seconds then let it go. If same problem persist call this no for further assistance 1800 421 6699

Black strip 1.5 inches wide on right side of page

first, take drum unit out and make sure the blueish-purple colored plastic tab on top of drum is all the way to the left side. if thats not the culprit, then you are most likely looking at a bad contact image sensor or CIS.

Sharp AR-207 copier puts .5 inch black line across entire bottom of copy

does the line only show up when making copies from the adf or both when you put it on the glass. if only when thru the adf the **** glass is dirty. that is the glass that is only about an inch wide. be carefull of the two pieces of tape that are on both the front and back of that glass they fall off easly.

When I want to copy a page it cuts off about 1 inch on th e side Have tried everything I put it on the glass like it says and no luck

i think all printer with copier have in common in regard with copying the have all allowance i think its half an inch so if you copy a borderless document its not 100percent copied theres a cut on the side. My solution? scan and edit so you can have a complete picture without a cut.

Print Problem - vertical lines

If the problem only occurs when using the document feeder, the problem is not usually caused by the drum. When using the document feeder, try to notice where the scanner (the light assembly under your scan glass)stops just before the paper is being fed. Some multifunction machines have a small piece of glass that is separate from the large scan glass and the scanner assembly stays parked underneith it as the original is being fed over it. Most likely there is something on the glass where the scanner parks as originals are being fed thru the feeder. When putting your original on the large scan glass to copy, the mark on the glass will only show as a spot, but will show as a vertical line thru the whole copy when using the feeder.
