Re: no sound

Here is a website with the audio drivers for that motherboard, although they require a registration (free).

When PC manufacturers no longer support a machine with drivers etc, you're then pretty much limited to rescources like Driver Guide for drivers that are no longer available. Get a free memborship with Driver Guide at least to see if these drivers are available through them. You will have to go through some steps (hoops) to get what you need if they have them, but it's worth the effort if they do have them and you can't get them elsewhere and they won't cost anything but some time.

I have new window xp in my pc and in this no sound is played. What i do?

you need to find the model number or type of your pc or the motherboard if it isn;t a brand name. Then go to that companies support web page. Find your model under the support pages. Then download the motherboards drivers (actually INF files) and your sound card drivers. Install the inf first, reboot if it says so (good idea anyway) and then run your sound drivers and you will have sound.

XP can install quite a few drivers but the ones it has trouble getting working is always the sound. Usually it gets the video working but usually the oem drivers will give better performance or more settings. All the drivers you need will be available for download from the manufacturers website.

No sound device

? mark means no sound driver install or errors in Device Manager. u can check ur mother board cd room or can search ur audio driver in web or below may be ur answer

Question: Where do I locate motherboard sound drivers?
Answer: Users who have motherboards with on-board audio (often with VIA, Realtek, or C-Media chipsets) may have issues with their audio or AC'97 errors in Device Manager. Often this is caused because the operating system has been reinstalled and the motherboard chipset drivers are not installed. To resolve this issue try following the below steps.
Let Windows redetect drivers
If you have not recently reinstalled Microsoft Windows it's possible that your audio drivers are simply corrupt. Open Device Manager and remove all devices under "Sound, video and game controllers" and any "Other devices". Once removed reboot the computer and let Microsoft Windows re-detect the audio drivers.
Motherboard chipset drivers
Reinstalling the motherboard chipset drivers will usually resolve this issue. If your computer came with a Motherboard CD, install the chipset drivers from the CD and the sound drivers if also available on the CD.
If you do not have a motherboard CD, obtain the motherboard chipset drivers from the motherboard manufacturer.
Sound card drivers
If after installing the motherboard chipset drivers you continue to have issues install the sound drivers. We suggest you download the sound drivers from the computer manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer.
A listing of motherboard manufacturers and their drivers can be found on our motherboard chipset drivers page.

Hi, Confirm that there is an audio device installed in your PC > right click on My Computer, Properties, Hardware tab, Device Manager button, expand Sound, video and game controllers, It's got to be there, with no yellow or red marks. Also in Start, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, Audio tab, you should have something in Default device. If none likewise in Device Manager or a yellow or red mark, you have to re-install your drivers by right clicking on the mark and click Update drivers. If they're there with no marks, ensure that they are enabled. Perhaps further assistance maybe made available if you can post brand/model of your PC and/or motherboard. Good luck and kind regards.
