The cam lock can be adjusted to hold the seat in place. With the lock in the loose position, turn it like your are tightening a screw making sure the other end does not turn. Don't turn it too much. When you put it back in the lock position it should be tight but not so tight you can't release it without a tool.It's meant to be used with your hand.
