Did all troubleshooting on hp website, went through it again with tech support, reset printer, tried new cartridges. Tech. support told me it was the printer and there is no fix...any ideas on what is wrong with printer and how to fix. The problem is on the color cartridge side.

If you DID NOT use a HP cartridge you get the error message. If you did use a HP cartridge. Unplug the printer. Wait 2 minutes. Plug in the printer. If same error message. Remove cartridge and reinstall. Make sure no clear tape is left on cartridge contact face.
- Remove the cartridge that is not working. - look for a lint free cloth "coffee filter" then dump w/ water- clean the copper contacts of the cartridge- make sure that the air vent is open; if not pinch it a bit- remove all the cartridges- check if there are are inks spills- use lint free cloth to clean the part where you are have trouble with- install the inks again- run alignment and clean cartridges on the panel if still nothing works, call HP tech support and ask for replacement of the ink. note: they will do the same steps again for troubleshooting and documentations.the reason why this happens:- that the copper contact does not touch each other- cartridge air vent is sealed- not an orig HP ink- Print head problem, needs cleaning
Sounds like the mainboard inside of the printer is bad.
Some things to verify this, make sure the cartridges that your using are original HP Cartridges and NOT 3rd party ones, even though 3rd party can work, its hit and miss and can cause sporadic problems.
If that doesn't fix it then try this troubleshooting step:
Reset process is........unplug power cable from the back of the unit, without turning it off, wait for about 10-15 secs & then while plugging in the power cable press & hold # key & the 3 key.....once u can see the unit powering on let the buttons go. Its important that you do the plugging in of the power cable while your holding these buttons on the printer........you will see a "partial reset" being displayed on the printer. If that does not do the trick you can try the same with the # key & the 6 key on the printer. This is a semi full reset.
If u still get the error msg its a hardware issue with the printer & cannot be fixed with regular troubleshooting. At that point unless the printer is under warranty I would replace it because parts aren't available for it.
One reason why it will not give you a full yellow bar in the Ink Levels is that the replacement cartridge used was a non HP cartridge. To resolve this issue all you have to do is to purchase an original HP cartridge from HP.

The 10.00.00 SUPPLIES MEMORY ERROR is based on the e-label. To clear the error, do the following: NOTE: If the error occurs, it should appear at beginning of life, causing the error message after first installing the cartridge. Turn the printer off and on to clear the message.
Put in the old catridge and see what happens.
If OK put in the new one again. Verify that the print cartridge is a genuine HP cartridge. Check that the E-label reader is functioning correctly. Check that there is contact between the E-label chip on the print cartridge and the E-label reader on the printer. To verify this contact, insert a new print cartridge. Remove it again. Check for scratches on the e-label chip and on the cartridge. If contact is being made, replace the print cartridge (part number: Q2610A). If contact is not being made, check the toner guides to see if they are in the proper position, or that the cartridge is not damaged. If the printer has a 500-sheet Tray 3 installed, turn the printer off again and replace the print cartridge with a new HP print cartridge. Turn the printer on again. If the error does not clear, turn the printer off and remove tray 3. Turn the printer on and verify if the error clears.
HP has recently discovered that a 10.00.00 Supplies Memory Error can occur when Tray 3 is faulty.
check if the cartridge is a hp cartridge
if no use a hp cartridge
if issue stll occurs
open the cartridge door
remove the cartridge and the papers from the tray
close the cartridge door and turn off the printer
then turn on then printer
you will get a msg install black cartridge
open the cartridge door and put the cartridge inside and the papers in the tray and close the cartridge door
the printer will intiallize and you will get a ready msg on the display of the printer.
if you still get the msg have the printer serviced
