Question about LG WM2301HW Front Load Washer
Doesn't happen every time
You have to clean the filter once a month. Which located lower left. Do a tub cleanse. Rinse extra. That will clear your problem. I have had the same issue and many repairmen and that was the answer. As long as I clean it than grease marks

This problem is caused from fabric softner, building up in the system and pipes. IT takes alot of flushing to get rid of this to remove it. It will also be in the outley pipe. Also there should be a draining plug undo this and then flush out the washing machine with a hose you will notice black gunk coming out. Also remove the draining pipe and clean it out under a bath tape it will take many goes to clean it or just buy a new pipe. Nonetheless a bit of elbow grease will fix it. Good Luck Kylie

the grease i'm sure would be coming from the machine. look at the water solenoids, detergent dispenser, dispenser solenoids, everything with rubber hoses.
they do put a clear grease just to insert the hose easier in the plant. and if it was not removed during QC, then it would come out now as you uses it.
tnx 4 using fixya,

SOURCE: Black marks on clothes
My wife complained that we were having similar problems recently. After investigation I located the remains of a pen entering the filter and removed this and did a few empty boil washes to remove any remains of ink and this worked for us. Check the filter and hose between the drum and filter.

sounds like the seal at the base of the tub is allowing oil to leak from the bearing (that is allowing the tub to spin on the motor shaft.
Not much to do unless you are good with tools and can remove the tub and replace the seal. (This is sorta like the seal between the transmission and engine on a car, or around the main motor bearing)

I have the exact same problem and I have NEVER used fabric softner. My washer is less than a year old. It is wiped down after each use, the door is left open, and we clean the trap out at least monthly.
