Question about Nikon Coolpix S4000 Digital Camera
Powered up the camera and an unusual pattern displayed on touch screen. it still displays what is being photographed but is very faint under the 'pattern'. Is this the display or digitizer?

Testimonial: "There are multi-colored lines in the upper left quadrant with the same in the lower right quadrant. There is a line running top-left to bottom-right with what looks like leaves in the middle. In the very bottom-left I can see an image of the lense sees, also I can see menu items along the left edge that are normally there but very faint now."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Replace LCD Display
Imformatica is right that Nikon will not sell parts to users, but thanks to the Interent they can?t stop others from selling to you. Here is one site you can try and I?m sure there are lots more. http://www.uscamera.com/

SOURCE: display screen doen not work,
I have recently talked to a Nikon tech. Three things he said to do, and make sure of, are: 1- with the power on do a reset by pushing the 2 green buttons on the top of the camera at the same time, untill the top screen flashes. 2 - make sure your using a nikon lens. 3 - Make sure your media is on the nikon approved list, here is a link http://support.nikontech.com/cgi-bin/nikonusa.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=14048&p_created=1155132515
I hope this helps

SOURCE: Nikon D80 display panel F--
The lens ought to be fully functional in every mode. But if you are in a pinch then Manual it is 'til you can get it sorted or serviced if need be...in which case you'll need to swithch the AF Mode lever (under lens release button )from 'AF' to 'M'.
Have you cleaned the lens' electrical contacts? Examine but probably little need to clean the camera's electric contacts considering its' young age. Do you have access to another AF body on which you can test the lens and another AF lens to test the D80?
Please keep in mind that if the aperture is not set (locked) at its minimum, the error is a flashing fEE. When the body cannot communicate with the CPU in the lens, the error is F--, which means either the lens has no CPU or a bad electronic contact.

By default the D90 is set to use the viewfinder for framing and taking pictures. If you wish to disable that and use the monitor, press the "LV" button on the back just above the multiselector.
