How would I test the power supply board? I've checked the capacitors and none are blown or burnt. I've also checked the fuse. the board has around 24 to 4 something volts at most plugin. I can't find a service manual or any info to how much power the connectors should have or which one suppose to have power.

  • Shane Aug 01, 2013

I've found that on the main power cable to the main board from the power supply board there is no 12 volt

SOURCE: I have a RCA 32" Flat Screen TV that shut off and

Hi,

The sound was came from the clicking of the relay. This kind of symptoms is an indication of out-of-regulation condition on the power supply section. This is caused by faulty electrolytic capacitor. It will dropped the supply voltage and will trigger that kind of symptoms.

Faulty electrolytic capacitor mostly has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identified. See sample picture of faulty electrolytic capacitor below.

capacitor with bulged/dome at the top.

Check these parts on the power supply section. Once found, replaced it with same capacitance and working voltage which is printed on its body itself. Click this LINK for more info regarding electrolytic capacitor.

If you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to look for a qualified TV Technician to isolate the faulty parts.

Hope I helped you.

Have a nice day!

SOURCE: RCA LCD TV red light flasiing tv won't come on

I acquired a 42" RCA LCD TV (model L42WD22) that would not come on. When you pressed the power button, the power indicator light on the front of the TV would blink red 5 times. It would then pause for a few seconds and blink red 5 times again, etc. I work as a technician so I took the TV apart. It had capacitors in the power supply section that had overheated and were obvious by looking at them. I replaced all the caps that looked like that, and the TV has been working for days and days after that. The manufacturer uses cheap components when they built, but capacitors don't last forever anyways, even good quality caps.

Hope that may help.

Thomson TG585 v8 connection problem

this is way too vague, try power cycling your modem and router. also make sure you have not accidentally hit the standby button (teal oval on front). let me know what lights are on and or flashing and what lights are not. that modem's GUI can be accessed by entering 192.168.100.1 in the browser bar and you may be able to diagnose your problem from there.

My "50" RCA Scenium won't

That's usually caused by a bad lamp. However that chassis is famous for having bad caps on the power board. I would suggest replacing the board itself, chances are what caused those fuses to blow is still faulty. did you check those fuses again after you powered it back up?

EVERY TIME I POWER UP ITS SAYING F61

The below doesn't work with all Panasonic equipment but if this fails then the only fix is a replacement Laser which isn't cost effective.

U61 Fault
Corrupted or Faulty DVD in Machine.
  1. Put Machine into Standby
  2. If won't go into Standby hold 'Power' for 5-10 seconds
  3. In Standby hold 'Stop' & 'CH UP' together for 5-10 seconds until tray opens
If this fails then re-initialise the Machine as follows
  1. Put Machine into Standby as above
  2. In Standby hold 'Stop', 'CH UP' & 'Open/Close' together for 5-10 seconds.
  3. Hello displayed followed by TM AV1
  4. Put Machine into Standby
  5. 11-11 then 12-12 and finally 22-22 displayed
Switch Machine on and Retune
