SOURCE: TV is dead
Could be many things, possibly a vertical IC failure, or bad soldered joints, or problems with the power supply. Considering your questions, if theres a problem with the tube, you don't want to change it, it won't be worth the expense, and since you're asking, then you probably shouldn't try anything with it. VERY dangerous, more or less like a microwave. TVs store very high voltages even when unplugged. What you could try is to unplug the TV over night, maybe the TV needs a bit of a discharge. also try another power outlet. other then that, you better take it to repair shop. Good luck

Try pressing the "F" or function button and hold while pressing the Mute or "M" button at the same time. Good Luck

SOURCE: Power shut off
The set is still sensin a problem thats why it shuts off, in this units the problem is in the vcr section, check the cassette assambly sometimes is jammed and it will not load or one side of the cassette tray is pushed in too far or misaligned. It will continuo to shutdown until the problem is corrected.Be careful when working on it.

First thing to check would be L401. Its a small coil from the secondary side of the horizontal driver transformer to the Base of the horizontal output transistor. Not a solder problem, You must take it out and scrap off the leads to remove the excess enamel paint the reinsert and resolder. Also check connections on the driver transformer too(horizontal). Next check for bad solder connections on the flyback transformer too. Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread.

make diagram on paper of the old socket . Carefully unscrewing old socket from wall, DO NOT CUT WIRES, copy color of wires (if any) and where and how meny wires on the paper. EXAMPLE:: you have just pulled old socket away from wall, look and see how meny wires, colors if any, and where they are in contrast to the socket.(left wire=blue, middle wire=black, left=yellow, connector that is up or down=color. MARK these wires on paper, and if possible TAPE a piece of paper with a nember[#] on the wire and place that # on the paper corresponding to the wire in socket wall.
Take the socket to electronics store.NOTE;; IF STORE does not have a exact replacement ask store for SIMULOR replacement.Show the diagram you made to help you buy the right replacement.
