Problem with the Kodak ESP 5 Printer

Paper jam error light on kodak esp 5

I bought an Kodak ESP 3, 2 1/2 months ago, it worked for 1 day. They shipped me a new one, it worked for 2 months, then had a paper jam,

The paper jam error would not go off after clearing the paper.

They sent me a 3rd one. I unpacked it, turned it on and it also had a paper jam error. They sent me a 4th one, this time an ESP 5 upgrade, I unpacked it, turned it on and this one also had a paper jam error light lit. Each time I chatted online with the Kodak reprresentive, we did serveral test, unplugging, unistalling printhead, cartridges, so on, to no avail. They are now in the process of sending me a 5th printer. I have a feeling that Kodak has made a really poorly designed printer and they don't have a clue how to fix them.

Please try to help if you had heard anyone else with the same problems.

If you read my note. this printer did not work out of the box. There was never any paper loaded in it. The paper jam light has been on since the minute I turned it on. As was the case in the 2 I recieved before this one.

I have an ESP 7 and this is my 3rd printer. The first 2 the black print would not show or it skipped. Pictures were great, text was ****. Now on my third ESP7 the paper jam light went on. I did everything and even replaced the printer head as they suggested. It still came up paper jam. I read that someone started pushing the OK button and then the cancel button. I started doing it repeatedly for close to 30 seconds, all of a sudden the printer went into a recycling mode and know the paper error is gone. I think the programming on these printers needs an up grade or two. Who knows, but I do know I will never buy another Kodak printer. There service is excellent and they do try to help you and I have had no problem replacing equiptment. One draw back, the person I talk to uses English as a second language.

mines the same way ESP 5 and paper jam. Nothing is wrong with it so yea i guess i'm going to have to call and figure it out too.

I had the same experience. Opened the Kodak esp 5 all in one printer out of the box, installed all the software, turned on the printer and was given a "Paper Jam" error even though paper was never inserted. Kodak support could not fix the problem and is in the process of shipping a new printer.

Remove the paper tray.
Disconnect the power cord, wait 5 seconds, then reconnect the power cord.
NOTE: The printer will reset and eject the paper. If the paper does not eject, try to remove it manually.
Replace the paper tray.
Press the Print button on the printer to resume printing.
