Hi my Rowe AMI CD100 says ''RAM error check the change EPROM section on service manual'' some times, other times simply say ''RAM error'' or stay on a bucle doing the post, checking the normal tests on start Up (all the tests say Pass), i do the ''load of defaults thing'' but nothing change.
Do not go to the Service mode on most oportunities.
A few times run normal but about one or two minutes of play or stand by go in to the bucle again, or wen insert a coin thinks i selecting the 2222 selection (one 2 for each coin).
I think a change of EPROM (asumming that the EPROM contain the RAM memory) will solve the problem but i dont know wath tipe of EPROM i need to buy (i have the software to prgogram it, downloaded from internet).
Also i check the battery charge and it´s 2,87v.
So thats it, if any one can help me i´ll be very glad, many thanks in advance.
Thanks for replay klusos but i already try it and cant solve the problem reloading the prom, i really think there is a fisic problem with the RAM but i dont know if the RAM is fisically "in the EPROM" or is another chip (there are two unidentifyed in the CCC, one in the rigth upper corner - i think the EPROM - and another at the bottom center, those two are mounted in sockets) so if any one know where is located the RAM and what kind is it, i wel be very glad. Then i try to change it and post.
Many thanks in advance for your time and knolage.

if you got the service manual with it, it will tell you how to pull up the error codes and what to check.....I got lucky cause I just bought one and it had the manuals in it...mines is a rowe ami cd-100c. ....I just googled ur model and a pdf manual pop up for downloading. ...hope that helps!!!!
You can purchase the service manual from an online store. Here is the link to an online store.
Regarding the original problem, please post the problem under the appropriate category on FixYa website so that the best experts in that category can view and post the solution. (You have posted the question under computer motherboards section)
I operate rowe cd 100 jukeboxes for a living, In the manual it will tell you what these error codes are, off the top of my head I know that one to mean either there is a problem with the inner or outter cam switch. these switches are located under what we call the transfer motor, there will be two of them look in your manual to see whether the error relates to the inner or outter cam switch. Inner being the one closest to the actual mechanism and outter being the one furthest from the mechanism. The switches are usually black but can be white and are about the size of an block ink/pencil eraser. You most likely can get the switch from a local electronics store I.E. radio shack.
most all "early models: Rowe CD 100 Laserstar's
Put the slide switch in service position. Go past the errors (if any) by pressing Popular and Reset simultaneously then enter "55" the display should say "free play off" then hold down the reset key and push 9. This will toggle between "off" and "on" Toggle until the display indicates free play "on", then release the reset key and press the popular button. Put the service switch back in to the play position, The display should say "FP" however not all models display it exactly the same. If your computer's battery is good this setting will be retained. If you have to load the factory defaults for any reason OR another problem (dead battery) is causing the factory defaults to be loaded when you power on, this free play setting will be reset to "off" after power is interrupted.
Hi Easiest way to check if its the amp. Is to disconnect the internal speakers the connect a standard hifi speaker to it .If that plays fine its not your amp If it is your amp and your on a budget and the repair could be costly. Many times ive refitted a yamaha 250 watt hifi separate amp to just the cd out cable coming out of the cd player inside machines. Easy to do and only costs around £50 for a second hand one. Instead of £300 for the original. Worked for me many times and my customers have been very happy. Hope this helps.
With regards to your problem with the Rowe Ami 100 cd jukebox.
Do you have a manual, if not I suggest you buy a printer manual or one on CD and refer to the Programming and Installation section.
In order for the jukebox to know about the cd's that are installed in the jukebox it has to initialize all or the changed cd's that have been replaced within the jukebox.
Put the jukebox into the Service Mode (the service mode should appear on the display)
Type 3 to select the Initialize sub menu
Type 0 and full initialize will appear on the display
Press Popular to start the initialization
Place the jukebox service switch into the normal mode
Initiazation will take around 30 minutes to complete.
