SOURCE: troy-bilt 2200 psi pressure washer

I have a Troybilt Model 2200 PSI Pressure Washer in which I have used only 2 times in the past 2 1/2 years. Went to use it this past weekend and the pump in not working. Water shoots out of the side. I bought this brand and model as I thought Troybilt was suppose to be so good. Went back to where it was purchased and had no success but to say I could buy another pump or take it in to be repaired. I believe that this power washer should be replaced at no charge. 2 uses does not constitute a few hundreds of dollars.
Have you to heard anything concerning pump problems on this particular model? Thanks for any advice. .

It is very common for the chemical injector valve on these to get gummed up from residual soap sitting in the valve. To clean it follow the chemical hose back to where it attaches to the pump. There will be a hex headed hose barb attached to it. Remove the barb from the pump. Underneath it you will find a spring and a ball bearing. Rinse the parts thoroughly and reassemble. You should also check the chemical strainer that goes into your chemical bucket. They can also become clogged and should periodically be cleaned.

How can I get the soap to draw into the stream?

You need to use your black chemical tip if you have a switchable tip system on your wand...if your tip is the big plastic variable nozzle type, it pushes either in or out for low pressure chemical application...also, if you have the variable nozzle...go to a service center and replace it with a Quick disconnect and the switchable tip system...those varinozzles are bad for going bad and not working...Good luck

I assume you are talking about the chemical intake tube... Most commonly you would see one end of the tube attached to the small tapered nozzle on the pump, and the other end which should have a small filter attached to it - is what you would submerge in a container of soap/degreaser/chemical solution of your choice.

If you have it set up in this way you will get the addition of whatever soap product you have the clear tube sitting in mixed into your spray stream. -- it's important to note that you will only get suction and soap flowing through if you are using the widest (black) spray tip. With the broad spray tip on you can get soap flowing either with or without the engine running - which can sometimes be helpful if you have to be careful of what you get the soap on.

Chemical wont siphon

In most cases this is because you have a high pressure tip, the red, white, yellow or green tip, on the wand. The detergent system will only work if you have the black, soap tip on the wand. With a pressure tip on the wand, there is too much back pressure for the syphon system to work. If you are using the soap tip, check the feed tube for the detergent for blockage, especially at the pickup filter and where it attaches to the water line.

The only filter on the detergent pickup is usually at the end of the hose you drop into the detergent. To clean the line and syphon attachment only requires a little pressurized air to blow out any debris that may be in the line. Make sure you are using the black, soap tip on the pressure gun when trying to use the detergent syphon system. If you are using any of the high pressure tips there will be too much back pressure in the line for the syphon to work.

The chemical injection system on my craftsman 2500psi washer will not inject cleaner through the wand. have cleaned all parts and still won't work

The chemical injection system works by siphon action. You must have the black or largest/ low pressure tip installed for it to work properly. If you feel any pressure at the wand, most likely will not work. If your wand has the adjustable type tip, it may have a restriction causing pressure and not allowing siphon action. If you continue having trouble with siphon, you could plug/shut of siphon and install an aftermarket injector between the wand and the pump (not expensive). Sold at www.pwmall.com Good luck

HI. My Comet FWS 4030 works just great and i am very pleased. what i DON'T know is how to draw up soap to mix with the water. there is a big red knob, and another brass adjustment but i have no manual...

The red knob is to regulate the pressure. The soap siphon should be hooked up to the pump at the high pressure outlet and the pressure hose hooks up to it. You do just have to drop the tube into your soap solution but I recommend you dilute the soap down as the siphon usually sucks the solution up fairly fast. The trick to making it work is to use the low pressure, soap tip on your wand. They are black and help fan the water/soap out but give no resistance to the water coming out. If you are using a high pressure tip, usually red, yellow, white or green, there will be too much back pressure in the hose and siphon attachment for it to **** up any solution.

My Karcher 2400 Pressure Washer will not syphon cleaning fluid. I have a reconditioned machine and the syphon for cleaning fluid has not worked for a while.Everything looks clean but still does not work'...

The black tip nozzle puts the right amount of pressure on the line to draw up the cleaning solution.

If your power washer is like mine, the cleaning fluid adapter is a 'T shaped' brass valve that fits in-line along the hose line.
There is a brass stem sticking out.
The stem has a tiny ball valve on the end.
A plastic hose fits onto the stem, and the plastic hose goes into bucket of cleaner.
As water travels through power washer hose, it creates suction that draws cleaning solution through the tiny ball valve.

The brass ball valve gets clogged or wears out ... we used to replace the stem every so often.
Sherwin Williams used to carry a replacement stem ... but they may not sell little parts any more.
It's been 14 years since I used the suction device.
I got fed up with the thing not working.

We changed over to a pump-up hand-held sprayer for applying cleaning chemical.
The pump-up puts more chemical on the spots where you need it.
So one guy puts chemical on, and second guy comes behind with power washer ... no more replacement parts, and one tip stays in the gun so we never lose a tip.
A pump-up sprayer is half the cost of replacing the T-shaped valve.
Duh-simple is the business model.

inlet valve connected to water inlet is stopped-up. Unscrew it, take a safety pin run through valve then take the pin and push through valve connected to pump. should do the trick. (the valve the suction hose for the soap is connect to)
