Question about Ovens
I have GE built in oven JKP15WA. Worked perfectly for 10 years. Yesterday my wife tried to start it but it did not start. All buttons on the control panel work except the start button. Disassembled the control panel and checked the plastic ribbon cable, cleaned contacts in the receptacle for the ribbon cable. Still does not start. There is no any failure code letter flashing or any other indication of malfunction. tried to jumper contacts 1 & 2 in the receptacle of the ribbon cable, no effect. Tried to measure the resistance (ring the circuit in the ribbon calble contacts 1&2, did not get any readings on any ribbon cable contacts).

I have a double oven GE Profile. The error message FO appeared. I shut off the circuit breaker for 30 minutes or more and the oven works but without warning FO reappears. FO message means there is short in the clear Off touch button. The only solution replace the complete panel. My cost delivered $328. Ouch!

Usually, the F1 means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called
clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code
cannot be canceled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC),
touch pad, or both.
I recommend a service call for this repair.
