Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3m Cellular Phone
Hi. May daughter droppered her phone in the sink yesterday by accident. I can't afford to get her another. I'm trying to see if I can get this one to work. The battery has a red dot. Is that normal? When I put the battery in the phone now, it vibrates and no screen. Hummmm?
Have talked with others who tried blow drying & then putting in freezer for few hours with phone & battery separate & yes the red normal after getting H2O damage shows the company out of warranty if you exchange phone through the warranty will be billed I think its like 110 or165 for At&t but if you call talk with them & tell them that phone stopped working screen blanked out & NO the red dot not there that it is white & ship your phone back when they receive it you will then be billed for it BUT when you call back in repeat OVER & OVER that when you sent it in that it was white & not your fault that warranty screwed up most of the time if you complain long enough you will get the charge removed :-) (work for cell company)

The one important thing you are all missing here is never attempt to turn on the phone until it is completely dehumidified inside and out. Turning on the phone when wet will cause it to short out and it will work from that point on.

Red dot tells the company that you damaged the phone. It also means that it is destroyed in one way or another. Mine went through the washer, and now I get calls but they can't hear me, is there another way other than, hairdryer, sun rice and how much typically is it to get it fixed?

Take the battery out and let it dry in sun for 5 mins then take a vacum and hold over open spots on phone for 10 to 20 mins then put in uncooked rice for a day or two and my phone works great yours might or wont

I have had two v3m phones get wet. One went swimming with my son and was underwater until he discovered he wasn't getting any calls (I had a few comments about that). My daughter had hers get wet on a swimming outing where they put their phones in plastic bags but didn't seal them properly so water did get in. The one that went swimming is dead as door nail, the one that was in the plastic bag, dried out and started working again. After reading a lot on the internet, total immersion is probably going to kill it. If it gets lightly exposed, it might start working after it dries out (several days at least). There are places on the internet that seem to be able to recondition them but its at least 50 dollars to find out.

The same thing happpened to me and like babygirl1 my phone worked even if it doesn't I wouldn't take Tannim's advice. He/She is obviously untrustwothy ad willing to compromise his integrity over a siily cell phone. What goes around comes around.

It is normal for the red dot. Try blow drying the phone. I once got water damage on my phone and I blow dryed it and it worked.
