Chances are the part has been discontinued. You might want to check for a replacement motor. Sometimes panasonic may have something compatible. Good luck

The motor is locked. How do I remove the motor and fan unit from the housing to determine whether it is repairable?

If motor and fan are locked up they can't be fixed. Simply take vacuum apart step by step until you have removed motor and fan. The part numbers should be on the motor and fan. You should be able to google the part numbers and order replacement parts

I have a older m&s system central vac model av625 one motor quit the brushes are gone are parts available

You will need a new motor, not brushes, as the worn motor will tear through new brushes. Search online for the M&S motor replacement and you will see helpful sites that will provide the replacement motor. Replacing the motor is not difficult. Consider replacing both motors as the second motor will go out in the near future.

Burning smell from motor...what needs replaced?

Without the complete model number, I don't know for sure what componets you have, most likely is the motor. You will have to take the motor cover off and check it out. You can go to sears.com, click on parts, enter your complete model number, scroll down to cannister and it will bring up a parts list where you can order parts, also a diagram of the cannister.

Replacement motor

The manual only show one wire from the motor going to the switch, the other going to the cord, then the ground wire. I would wire it the way your old motor was, could be that some models maybe were 2 speed and the other wire would be used for that. Either that or the wrong motor was in the box, it is the right part number (43576197 is Hoover number)
