IBM thinkpad T41 -> get

Hi,

The IBM Thinkpad has a very strong security system.

If you are seeing a lock symbol when booting then somebody has set the supervisor password. If you can't remember it or guess it (try "password", "admin", "pass", etc) then you need to find the person that set the supervisor password.

Once the supervisor password is set the T41 is very well protected and it can't be reset by removing the laptop battery or CMOS battery.

There is a way to read the password from the protection chip but this is very complicated and requires taking the laptop apart and building your own chip reader.

The instructions for doing this are are:

Hope this helps,

Chris

I cant down loade an antivirus on my pc!

Make sure your protection level is set low enough on your browser to allow downloads. Sometimes virus protection software already installed will not allow other protection software to be downloaded. If that is the case then you will need to remove any protection software on your system before trying to download a different product.

My PS2 doesnt read orignal CD but works very well with pirated CD

It's quite possible that your PS2's chip is malfunctioning, thus not recognizing original cds. Pirated CDs don't have a protection, thus the chip can't de-protect the original cds, not allowing them to be read.

Another cause would be that the discs are damaged.

My generic pen drive could not be reformated. it says it is write protected, I want to remove the protection. Please tell me how.

It's write protected because the control chip inside it has detected a fault in the actual memory chip and has blocked it to allow it to remain alive long enough for you to save your data from it.
Once you have done that just throw it away, the pen is dead.

"card write protected"

There is a minuscule tab on the side of the card, towards the "handle"-end of the card. Slide this tab to unlock the card and allow write and delete once again.

Sansui TV, V chip accidentally set

If you are on a protected channel where you are getting the "Protected Program by TV-etc" you have to get out of that channel and go to a channel that is not protected. That will allow you to hit your "Menu" button and access the V-Chip settings on your TV. Depending on the type of TV you have, you may end up using your Vol Up button as a sort of "Enter" button. Hope that helps!
