Question about Maytag MGR5752BDS Stainless Steel Gas Kitchen Range
How do I check the pilots. There is a gas smell in my kitchen and oven and stove top all works fine
Follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
f the pilot light on your stove goes out, natural gas may build up in your stove. If your pilot light has gone out, open the kitchen windows and doors for 15 minutes to let the gas dissipate safely then relight the pilot light. Do not relight the pilot light immediately -- striking a match could cause an explosion.
you still smell gas after relighting the pilot light, don't hesitate.
Leave your home, along with the rest of your family and pets, then call
your utility company or 911 from a safe location. Leave the doors and
windows open behind you, especially if the odor is strong or you can
hear the hissing of a gas leak. Do not turn appliances or lights on or
off or use a phone in your home. Do not strike a match or use a lighter,
If you can smell the sulfur-like or rotten egg smell of gas, there may be a gas leak inside or outside your home. You might also hear a hissing sound coming from the stove or another appliance or from a pipeline. Outside gas leaks may kill or stunt nearby vegetation. Signs of carbon monoxide poisoning include nausea, dizziness, fatigue and other flu-like symptoms.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

That is normal, whenever you cut power the range goes in Off mode, that is a safety standby mode. The same as you first installed the kitchen.
No faulty thing and no need to take apart anything, do not disassemble the appliance.
The usual procedure to activate back the kitchen range is by downpressing the timer main wheel.
If this does not work, then there must be a different command, check the user instructions , or try playing withthe controls.

A gas oven will have some built in safety devices. Assuming that you have an electric pilot light sparking device, anything in the pilot light circuit could cause your problem
The oven does not "want" to turn the gas on unless there is an operating pilot system.
Since you never smell gas, but gas is available, then something in the pilot light circuit sounds like the culprit.
It could be as simple as carbon build up on the igniter or an internal fusing mechanism.
If you can get into the oven to the igniter, you could try cleaning the unit with a plastic scrunge.
I'm going to guess that this is not going to respond well to 'home grown' measures and that it will require replacement of parts.
Perhaps it is time to bite the bullet and call in repair......

This will sound crazy but I had to work through it on my own stove a few years ago. The ignitor (glow tube) was getting hot but the oven would not owrk. When investigating the problem I found that the gas valve will only open when the ignitor pulls a specific amperage or draw of current. As the ignitor ages it pu;;s a reduced draw of current. This causes you to be fooled by the glow nut no gas. Replace your ignitor and your oven will begin to work again!
You can get ignitors easily online by doing a search for "appliance parts" and then entering the model number of your stove. Look for ignitor and you will be good to go. Also check out a few different sites as the prices of the parts can vary quite a bit.

Testimonial: "Thank you very much for your help. I was looking for a thermocouple but that must be old school. I couldn't figure out what told gas to flow."
