Turn the computer upside down, first unplug the device from power outlet, then remove battery on laptop, you will need some small screwdrivers and there is a small panel in the corner, unscrew the small panel off, then in order to get the old ram out, place both your thumbs on each end and push out and the ram will pop up and you can take out, then slide the ram in slant put down slowly and it will click in place. After in, then screw the back cover on and put battery in device and plug in power source, and your all set

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

you will first need to unplug your laptop from the power source then remove the battery, when the laptop is turned upside down, there should be a cover on the back of the laptop, use a small screw driver to open the back cover, and then you will be able to pop out the ram and put the new ram in, it will click in place, good luck

How do I upgrade my ram on my Gateway All in one zx4250?

I too purchased a Gateway ZX4250 and a 4 GB RAM upgrade kit. It took me awhile to figure out how to open the case. Here is what I found.

1) Remove the two rubber pads at the bottom of the case (don't worry they pop right back on).
2) Open the small back cover.
3) Remove the one screw.
*****CAREFUL****
4) This part is a little difficult but just be careful not to use too much force. Take two small flat head screwdrivers and slowly separate the plastic silver front panel from the plastic black back panel. Start at the bottom where the two rubber pads were removed. Work your way around the case, you can see how the clips are connecting the two panels as you work your way around the all-in-one. It shouldn't be too hard just be careful on how much force you use.
5) Once the panels are separated you can now access the hard drive, optical drive and some other components.
6) Disconnect the Hard drive sata cable from the motherboard.
7) Disconnect the other cable right next to the sata cable on the motherboard (I'm not sure as to the purpose of this cable.
8) Remove the screws from the metal plate covering the motherboard. Take careful note that a grounding cable is connected to one screw.
9) Install your RAM.
10) Reverse the procedure to put everything back together.

This whole procedure to upgrade my RAM took about 15 minutes. I hope this helps some of you that are trying to upgrade your RAM. If you have any questions PM me.

How can I increase RAM in my compaq nc8230?

To increase the physical RAM then you need to consult the manufacturer of the computer. If you want to increase the virtual memory of the computer then you can very well do that. To do that you need to tell us which operating system are you using?

I have a ACEer 5315 model no ICL50 running Windows Vista. To say Vista is **** is an understatement. I want to switch to Windows 7 but guess I will need a lot more RAM for this. Can I upgrade Ram on this...

Hi,
I recommend that you switch to Windows 7 without upgrading your RAM. Windows 7 is a lot faster, better and uses less RAM than Vista. Recommended RAM for running Windows 7 is 1GB but I have installed them on a Centrino 1.5GHz with 768Mb of RAM and they run perfectly.
So make the upgrade to Windows 7 anyway and if you feel that you need more power then you can get more RAM.
Also, download Windows 7 upgrade advisor to check if your pc is compatible. Download upgrade advisor here.

How to change the RAM

The Designjet 500 did not have a direct memory upgrade slot. You will have to purchase a HPGL2 (formatter) card first. This then has a memory slot on it for further upgrades. The plotter had 32Mb memory on board, the card another 32Mb and then you can upgrade by a further 64Mb (waste of money) or the best is 128Mb. This is then added to your original Ram giving you approx 164Mb which is then normally more than enough. The HPGL2 (formatter) card is sold by any HP supplier on order only. Part number is C7772A. Standing in front of the plotter its located in the left side at the back. Look behind the left cover and you will see a small cover in a sort of L shape near where the roll holder slots in, thats it, slip the small cover open (you will see an arrow on it showing how to open it), look if there are any additional cards in the machine, if not it means you still need to buy the card, otherwise you will simply need the RAM.

How to install new ram into the 2840

Unplug the machine. On the right side of the machine you will find a cover. Remove the cover and you will find 1 open slot. The machine can take a total of 224MB (96 is built into the machine) leaving 128 available. The memory type is 100pin, 133MHz, SDRAM DIMM.

Simply click the memory into the blank slot and replace the cover.

Once completed, plug the machine back in and print a configuration page. The memory total should be at 224 once you have installed your 128MB.

Good Luck

Upgrading Memory on Packard Bell MIT GHA20

If you look along the top edge of the escape/function/del keys, there are several small plastic tabs that hold the keypad in place. Use a very small flat head screwdriver to push these back from one corner across to the other, gently lifting the keypad as you go. When you press back the last tab, the keypad should just pop out but take care as it's connected by a cable at the bottom edge of the keys. The RAM slots are located under a thin metal cover under the keypad. You'll need a very small philips head screwdriver to undo this. After installing RAM, replace the metal cover then pop the keypad back in, bottom edge first and just press down the top edge and the plastic tabs should snap back into place. Hope this helps!
