Question about Zoom Computers & Internet
I got a new computer and I cant seem to get my zoom modem/router to get a consistent internet connection on my computer. I have been just dealing with the fact to get onto the internet I have to click refresh countless times before I actually can browse the web. I have had several other people bring their computers to my house and have no problem getting on and staying on the internet. I took my computer to a friends house and I was able to access the internet via his wireless router right away and with none of the problems I experience with my wireless internet. On a side note my wife and I also recently got smart phones, we each have a different phone, and those also have issues connecting and staying connected to our wireless internet, but again only when attempting to use our wireless connection at home. Do you have any thoughts as to what I need to do with the router? I have already tried the turn it off and then back on method of fixing but that did not seem to solve any issues.
You must reset the router by 30 seconds and try again. Remember they have a password for wep key for access. do you do it?when you installed the router the software is you want the connection close or open?
However you must click in open network connection , and select network troubleshooter and fix it.
If the problem remain, you must go to router supplier manufacturer via ONLINE chat, and explain the problem.
or reinstall the Router again follow the steps with your disk instalation.
God bless you

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

This is a common problem with linkys wireless g routers, as you say that you modem works fine with usb..no problem with your isp, so go head and first upgrade the routers latest firmware..reset and reconfig your roter your issue will get fixed..try it out.

What is the color of the power light? If it's solid red then that only means that there is something worng with it. And since you already rebooted the device a couple of times, you cant to reset it. You press the reset button on your rotuer for 10-15 sec. its usually located on the back of the router. Now let me also remind you that it will erase all of the settings on your router if you do this, so you will need to reconfigure it after you reset it.
Just reply to this post to let me know what will happen.

i you restart you devices, modem and router...
first turn off the modem and then the router and last will be the computer
second if you will turn the devices on...
first turn on the modem, wait until the dsl light becomes solid
second turn on the router, wait for a minute and
third turn on the computer.
check the wireless settings for your router and save changes
next, try to check wireless connection by disabling the local area connection (LAC)

Sounds like you need to port forward your router. Go to port forward .com. find your router and follow the instructions. Hope this does the trick for you.

Do you need to see the desktop or just share folders from each other? If the latter then you need to do the following:
Use Windows Explorer and select a folder you want to share. Right click and select sharing and security.
On the sharing tab click on Share this folder. Enter a share name ( I like to enter the PC name _folder name; Rick1_Downloads)
Click on Permissions. If your ok with everyone using the PC's and Laptops having access then highlight Everyone and click on Full Control.
Do this on each PC and Laptop.
That should be it or darned near close.
