Question about Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+
Hi, Just got back from vacation and our dog sitter left the dog in the garage and in trying to get out - he ripped out a sensor. We have the sensor wired up again it blinks constantly. According to the Liftmaster chart on LED codes: Rapid Flashing This is not a problem but just an indication that the opener is receiving a signal but it will not respond to an unauthorized code Chart can be found here: http://www.bearcatco.com/helpgifs/liftmaster_troubleshooting.html How do we fix this? One forum said to unplug the garage door opener for 5 minutes and it will reset. That did not work. It is a Liftmaster garage door opener. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
It is getting a signal, but the wrong code. Call the dealer for your garage door and ask for a solution.

Okay...upon further inspection, my left spring has broken in two. Going to call around for some quotes to replace the spring. Thanks for the suggestions.

I had the same problem. Although it appeared to be the logic board, on mine it actually was the connectors between the logic board and the power supply board.
There are 2 connections on the logic board. One white connector with wires going to the main unit, and another set of connectors that plug directly into the smaller circuit board that holds the step-down transformer (120vac - 22vac). These pins were not making good connection between the boards. I simply bent the pins slightly so they would make better contact on the logic board and have not had a problem since. This must be a weak point on these door openers. Purchasing a new logic board would work too, as the connectors are newer and tighter.

first off, hitting extra button on remote would not do anything. Is door up or down/ where is trolley that attaches to chain, by door or motor. Is is jamned against a bolt. Try a paper clip and jump from white to read terminal. Does it work. Does light bulb blink 10 times. I ignore the diagnostic lights and go by symptons. Give more info.

To program the keypad, first unplug the garage door opener from the electrical outlet. Next remove the nameplate from the console that the keypad plugs into and locate the program/operate switch. Flip the switch to program. Next enter your desired four-digit PIN number into the keypad. Slide the switch back to operate and plug the garage door opener back in. The keypad should be programmed.
