Question about LG 50PJ350 50 HDTVReady Plasma TV
I am trying to connect my macbook pro to my tv via a HD cable so that i can play films direct from laptop to tv. i have tried adjusting the settings on the mac but cant seem to get an image to stick. as i change the pixel rate ,(thinking this might be the issue) i get a brief image from the laptop screen appear, mostly purple and green, which instantly disappears. i know the cable works so what else can i do to make the connection clear and stable. any help would be much appreciated. cheers in advance.
I would try an s-video connection from computer to tv, it just might bypass all that copy right stuff that may be giving you problems

Testimonial: "thanks for getting back to me but unfortunately my mac is 2006 and doesn't have a s-video socket. "
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

there are 2 types of flicker, one is the lamps that drive the display and the second is the sync signal of the video.
I assume the video sync is the flicker you see,
I would try connecting a different way to make sure it is not the tv,
connect using the aux /rca connectors to cable box.
and or connect using the cable direct bypassing the cable box.
I have seen several complaints about the hdmi cable signal being incorrect in some way,
this is the same issue that the svideo connector had in its early adoption signal was too hot or too low.
another thing to watch out for is the low light sensor on the front of tv if it gets an incorrect reading it can flicker the back light though it should be slow in doing so.
some times the flicker you see is not flicker but ac running through the sides of the picture from an ungrounded cable source.
how does it perform if you play a dvd player , with and without the cable box connected.

Hey - I'm in the same boat, did you get it working? I connect and get the USB menu up, but the tv says that the file is corrupt, even though the iPod works fine when it's not connected to the tv.
