My X5 mop no longer produces steam, just water! Has the heating element gone? I am not very good at these kinds of things so would appreciate any advice :)

john, I would try cleaning the mechanism with vinegar or CLR to dissolve any buildups you can't see. Rinse, fill up with fresh water and powerup. good luck

X5 steam mop, turns on but produces no st eam

Its likely that the tube that supplies the steam to the mop is clogged. you will need to disassemble the mop part and find that tube then push a wire up there to clear it out. Then turn the unit on and keep trying to clear with wire, you may want to wear a glove in case a sudden puff of steam comes out. This problem is common it happens because when you evaporate the water, any dissolved solids drop out onto surfaces inside the unit and make the clogs. The 'Motor' is real hot because the unit is making steam but it can't get out!

My h20 x5 mop is working turn it on the light comes on but its not heating up and water is coming out it

How old is it? Did you store it with water in it? Sounds like the heating element is bad or a seal is broken.

The Shark mop gets warm but does not produce steam. This is the second mop I have owned. Bought a new one as I had the same problem with the first.

Just a guess, but I think you have hard water problems. Pour some vinegar into the mop, heat it, allow to cool, pour it out, rinse, repeat. Afterwards, use distilled water if available, otherwise, after every 5 - 10 uses, use the vinegar to remove the minerals from the heating elements. Let us know if this works!
