I have a broaster that turns on but will barely heat the oil. Does anyone know what would be causing this?

Is it made by the Broaster Company or a spin off like a Henny Penny? Is it gas or electric? If by the Broaster Company would it be a 1800 or a 1600? Give me this information and than I can tell you what the problem is. Not an expensive fix either.

Broaster 1800 machine is over shooting oil from top back steam valve and the valve that goes to little bucket in front

Dan,
Sorry, I am new to this site, and did not know about it until today. I am a Broaster distributor, and have the parts available. Couple questions if you have not resolved issue yet. Does your pressure guage work? If so how much does it read with about 8 pieces of chicken in a load?

Pressure not building in 1800 broaster

In order to build pressure, you need to first make sure that you have enough product to generate enough steam to build pressure. In a Model 1800 you need about 5-6 pieces of chicken or the equivalent to build a sufficient amount of pressure. You also have to have enough heat to create the steam, so check the oil temperature with a thermometer to make sure the actual temperature of the oil is close to the set temperature. If you have enough product at the proper temperature but no pressure is being generated, you need to determine where the steam is escaping. If the steam is escaping around the cover, replace the cover o-ring. If the steam is escaping from the exhaust stack in the back right corner of the unit, then your pressure regulating valve needs to be cleaned or rebuilt. The pressure regulating valve is mounted to the front of the cooking well just below the countertop. If the unit is several years old you should go ahead and get the rebuild kit for it.

My Broaster 1800 timer counts down correctly but no sound comes out of the speaker, only a clicking noise. I have replaced the speaker and still same problem

If you have replaced the speaker with a new one and you still have the same problem, you will have to replace the control panel. The current P/N is 15708, but if your unit is more than 10 years old you will also need a controller conversion kit (P/N 15755 if yours is an electric unit, or 15756 for a gas unit). You can get the parts from a Broster distributor, go to www.broaster.com to find the closest one.

I have a Broaster 1600-1800 electric model and it takes about 3 hours to heat up. The digital readout blinks on and off saying both lo and intermittently going completely blank. After it heats up the LED's...

If the digital display is going blank, but the Power On light is staying on, the problem has to lie in either the Controller Transformer or the Controller. To determine which, just check the voltage at the 2 red wires that go from the Controller Transformer to the back of the circuit card. That should read around 26VAC whenever the Power On light is on. If the voltage is still present when the Controller goes blank, then the problem lies in the Controller. Contact The Broaster Company through their website, www.broaster.com, and call the Service Department. They can easily provide a Service and Parts Manual to you, as well as help you troubleshoot your problem. Good luck and I hope this helps.
