You usually cannot service fuel pumps, buy a new one, and check for debris in the tank

Fuel pump works but not putting fuel to motor in 2000 s10 2.2

I take your statement "fuel pump works" to mean it is completely in good working order. So either the demand for fuel is not being properly relayed or there is a blockage between the fuel pump and the engine. The fuel filter is often along the line from the pump to the engine, if it is not part of the pump itself. Your saying the pump is fine suggests the filter is along the line. The fuel filter would be the simplest and least expensive place to start. As others have said on various questions, I too highly recommend getting a repair manual for your truck, e.g. Hayes, etc.

ISO definitive eng compartment pic/diag/schematic of fuel line & line-pressure valve/access, bleed disconnects + alt intake spots 4 starting fluid, beyond air filter intake.

to remove contaminated fuel , pull a fuel line of the fuel manifold and run the pump for a few seconds
not firing is sensor , immobilizer , ignition module problem but you stat that it fires on starter fluid so that cannot be right
starter fluid is a d good way of damaging the engine
a better way is to find and fix the fault
now to try and sort out what you are saying
it is cranking so the starter is good
it tries to run on starter fluid so there is spark to the plugs
it will not run and that indicates a lack of fuel to the injectors
a lack of fuel indicates
1--- a bad fuel pump
2--a vacuum in ht e fuel system from the tank not venting properly(EVAP system)
3--- fuel pressure regulator not working and providing pressure to the injectors
4--- bad injectors --- need cleaning
dump the starter fluid , buy a workshop manual and fix the problem properly

How do I get fuel to the engine?

If the fuel line is not blocked and the pump is working fuel must be reaching the engine, therefore either the line is blocked or the pump is not working.

I suggest you revisit the fuel line and then if ok check the pump is operating properly.

2004 malibu classic replaced fuel pump still not working

Did you replace the fuel filter? Are all the lines clear (no kinks)? Is the fuel pump proper aligned to the cam and the follower in the proper position? Check all these things, you'll probably find your fault.

Will not start

if you could check fuel pressure is normal, if no pressure then no spray on injectors engine will not start, possible problems are clogged fuel filter, fuel pump not working properly, what i do to check is i squirt fuel on intake manifold and start the engine if it does start, only means one thing no fuel injected, so check fuel line, filter, pump, look for leaks. and fix

If it start and it misses and like not enough gas. it means that there is a problem in the fuel pump that why you have to check the fuel pump and the fuel lines may be there is a dirt or may be the fuel pump is worn out.But if you don't have time to fix the problem of your fuel pump . Then you have to go to a car mechanic and let them fix the problem of the car. But if you have time to fix the fuel problem then this is what to do.The owner of the car should be able to check fuel lines .Prepare the equipment and tools to be used in checking fuel lines .So that fuel will flow freely and no abstraction within the fuel lines .Locate the fuel lines ,visual inspection on duel lines for learage, Disconnect lines at fuel pump and fuel pump.Use compress air to remove sediments on fuel lines .Re-install fuel line to the unit. But if the problem is the fuel thank that it is being worn out or malfunctioning .The owner of the car should prepare the equipment or tools in servicing the fuel pump.So that fuel pump will operate properly .Locate the fuel pump .disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump.remove the fuel pump from the engine. Dis-assemble the fuel pump.Check the diaphram for defects.Replace defective parts.Assemble and install the fuel pump. And always use safety rules in servicing the fuel pump.
