SOURCE: My Dyson will not vacuum

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties using your DC24 on this particular rug. You may find the cleaner's powerful suction causes certain lightweight rugs to seal closely with the soleplate, requiring a little more effort to push.

Reassuringly, it sounds as if your cleaner is performing correctly, but if you have any further concerns about this issue, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to provide the assistance you need.

    Kind regards,

SOURCE: How often do I wash filter for dyson dc33 upright vacuum cleaner

      Hi Mary,

The filters in your DC33 should be washed at least once every 3 months, using cold water without detergent. Allow them to dry somewhere warm for at least 24 hours before replacing in the machine. Please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide for assistance:

Why am I unable to push vacuum forward on new area rug. But will work pulling backward. Works fine on old rugs and floor

It might be that the new rug has a backing that is not as stiff a the other rugs which can cause a rug to bunch up making it hard to push the vacuum forward.

Cannot push vacuum forward on new area rug. But will work pulling backward. Still works on old area rugs and floors.

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty using your DC25 on this particular new area rug. As you've confirmed the vacuum works as normal on other rugs and hard floors, it doesn't sound like there's a fault with the vacuum itself.

As lightweight area rugs are not fixed to the floor, it's possible for the rug to lift and seal against the soleplate of the cleaner head, due to your DC25's powerful suction. As this will reduce the amount of airflow entering the cleaner head, you may need to use more push force than usual when vacuuming this type of flooring.

We would encourage you to check directly with the rug manufacturer, as they'll be best placed to provide information on correctly caring for this particular floor type.

Bissell Lift OfF Brush Roller Stops Rotating

They make the worst machines, the rollers are cheap and they make it so you cant take them apart to clean them. You don't want a dyson either, they aren't any better for pets. With all that hardwood floors you should get a good canister vacuum, sebo and miele are the best.

        Noisy on rugs!

Are the rugs long haired or short haired? Most likely the suction is just causing the noise when it picks up the rug and the buzz saw could be the beater bar hitting the rug then. I actually own a DC14 and it does the same thing and the rugs like to be dragged along. Nothing really to fix this, just the way it is. You could try it with the beater bar raised and see how well it works then but this sounds normal.

        Loud noise

This is the clutch as it jams up in the brush. Usually happens with rugs that are not secured to the floor.

        HOOVER U9125 990Z VACUUM CLEANER

Sounds like either the hose or the inlet down where the brush roll is is clogged. Either that or you have a motor fan problem. But this has a years warranty on it, so find out who in your area does Hoover Warranty and take it in for repair.

It is not sucking up all the water

I've had this happen to my SteamVac V2 and usually find that it's because I don't have the dirty water tank locked down well or I haven't pushed the hand attachment flap in tight or its gotten clogged up down in the suction area. I have a black lab and that area accumulates dog hair quickly. I use a Zip-it available at Lowe's or on the web to clean that out.
