This is not an error code. 128 r13 is the normal programming or software version for your model. you need to press the spa on button again, make sure the temp set point is higher then the actual water temperature
I don't have a definite solution however r9 is a heater problem it could be a short curuit between the heater and ground make sure the ground wire has not become loose or corroded
Hi, R9 is not an error code, but a software revision code.
Here is what you should do. Take off the front panel underneath the circuit board. Turn the heater on, if it doesn't Fire and gives no error code you need to look at the back of he circuit board and see what red lights are on. If you find one on there will be letters next to it to point you in the right direction of the issue. Example h1 or h2 would mean high limit 1 or 2. If you don't have space to look by taking off the front panel only then you would have to take all panels off and get the top loose so you can lift it carefully to access the back of the circuit board. Once you've done this let me know what you find and I may be able to further assist
this is not an error code, its the startup sequence to your heater. after those numbers have been displayed you have to press the pool on button and set your temperature
I am having the exact same problem. Same codes flashing. If you solved it let me know. I had just replaced the thermistor and Stack flu sensor and it was running fine. Previously it would read 126 and not fire, so I changed those 2 items and it ran fine for the last month. When I go out tonight 2/24/22 and the panel is lit up and reading a code. I shut everything off at the circuit. Flip it all back on and it gives all those codes. It will fire and start heating when I switch valves for proper pressure but doesn't let you adjust temp on the panel and just reads a code and won't shut off. Any help in troubleshooting. Thanks.
Error pertains to stack flue sensor setting.
There are two modes for low level programming and default is a (0) Zero but for outdoor spas this must be reset to a one ( 1 )
Just hold the off button down for 30 seconds let up, press down again, use arrow buttons on key pad to set from 0 to 1...press off again....play with it and see for yourself...I don't now why Sta-rite buries this information and makes us guess.
Again, on mine, this all pertains to the Stack Flue Sensor setting.... you can look at your heater and see what they look like...outside toward bottom the SF must be a 1 and not Zero or you get the quick flash 128-R8 notice...also, the Stack flue senor is finicky and connections must be good...use steal wool to re-seat but be careful as connector break off easily thus requiring a new stack flue sensor...
I accidentally discovered this when I turned the board upside down and spotted the LED red light on indicating a fault with the SFS**
I wish some one would tell us how to by-pass the stack flue sensor to make the heater work.
Good luck...hopefully the power button is close by and your board is working....
R9 is a boot up sequence number. If possible, remove the top disk to view the circuit board under the control panel and start the heater again, look for any fault LEDs to illuminate.
