Question about Dell Computers & Internet
Due to virus my mini laptop is very slow
Install malware bytes from a trusted site update it and the definitions then reboot your pc tapping f8 and go into safe mode. in safe mode run malware bytes. once cleaned reboot and repeat process. remember to delete any restore points as this can cause the virus to return. you can also run ccleaner and clean the registry as viruses tend to wreak havoc on reg files

SOURCE: Spyware problem
Hi snthaa; First copy the URL of the site that you are being sent to and post it here. To get your home page back. Go to your IE tools drop down menu and select tools. Then Internet options. At the tip of the box there is a space where you can type in the URL of your desired home page. (example: http://google.com). This should return you to your desired home page when you log onto your computer. If the spyware that I think you have is what I think it is then you have a pretty nasty bug. But there is a solution. Awaiting your reply; HELP2DIY

i hope you got norton off your system before putting AVG free on. Virus programs try to fight off other virus programs by postiong false virus claims to erase the other program. eventually they will kill your hard drive. You need a product key for a good virus protectant. Norton or CA offer good, reliable protection for your dollar. What i would do, is back up any really important stuff you have there, format your hard drive and install Vista again if you have the disc and then re-install it to permanetly delete viruses. Also your system maybe slow because VIsta needs at least a dual core processor and 2 GB RAM to work like a XP machine

Suggest you download Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool if possible on to your laptop. To download the version for your laptop's Windows 7 64-bit operating system, click on this link...
If possible, download directly to your hard drive and then run it from there. If too difficult or not possible, download using another computer onto a thumbdrive which you can then plug into your Toshiba laptop to run it. The Tool is tailored to remove specific infections from Windows AFTER it has been infected. Microsoft releases a new version on 2nd Tuesday of every month and the latest was posted March 8th. Clicking on the following link will take you to Microsofts Knowledge Base Article #890830 for details...

I would recommend a free anti-virus software, such as Avast! or AVG Free. I personally use Avast! and have no qualms with it after almost one full year of use. These should clean your computer right out of both viruses, and spyware.
Avast! download: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.html?part=dl-85737&subj=dl&tag=button
AVG download: http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition-2011/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?part=dl-10044820&subj=dl&tag=button&cdlPid=11014801
Unfortunately, Acer does not have a system restore key available on their website. That would've been the best method.
I hope this helps!
