Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Samsung rf510 Every time I start a game with minimum demands to the graphic card, the computer shuts down after a few minutes (bluescreen). As the rest of the hardware is doing fine and the computer is clean and dust free. The problem has to be the graphics card. All the best

SOURCE: Sony Vaio game lag only using fraction of graphics card

Not quiet sure what you mean by its only using a fraction of your graphics card?

If you go in to device manager it will tell you what graphics card you have.

What game is it you are trying to play?

If it is lagging then it suggest that your card isnt powerfull enough to cope with the game.

Have you tried dropping the display settings in the game to see if that helps?

SOURCE: How do I find my graphics card on acer laptop

* The system configuration of Acer Aspire 4720Z PC Notebook is :

160 GB or larger hard disk drive / 5-in-1 card reader / 512 MB or 1GB DDR2 533 MHz DIMM module / Intel Pentium dual-core mobile processor technology T2310 (1 MB L2 cache, 1.46, 533 MHz FSB), Mobile Intel GL960 Express Graphics Chipset.

* Your system have "Mobile Intel GL960 Express Graphics Chipset" graphics accelerator card embedded in the motherboard. Like most of the laptops/notebooks, there is no room for upgrading the graphics card in the motherboard!

* But you can upgrade the RAM upto 2 GB using two DDR2 DIMM memory modules.

* If you want to play 3D games with better performance, switch to Windows XP SP2 and upgrade the RAM!

* If you want to upgrade the memory (RAM), you can check this site :

please rate this advice if it! :)

My rome total war game keeps shuting down every few minutes, what is wrong?

Sounds like a bad graphics card in the computer. Verify that the fan on the graphics card is actually turning, it may be heating up and shutting down.

I have Biostar G32D-M7 mother board, some games dont work due to display card problem, I am using the onboard display, Now I am thinking of adding a display card with more memory, which card should I use....

You'll have to read the motherboard user manual or go to the biostar website and download it. See what graphics cards/ graphics accelorator cards it can support.

Check that info against the minimum system requirement demanded by your games.

If supported cards easily cover those minimum requirements, go for the fastest the motherboard can support taking into how much you want to pay.

My pc games keep freezing. i have to reboot to start game again

all pc games show minimum computer requirement for graphics card and processor. if your computer has not got the minimum requirements needed you will burn out your graphics card and your processor. for the processor think of it like a car going up a steep hill, a jaguar can go up in 4th gear but a mini would need 1st gear. graphics cards have pixels 64 bit, 128 bit ,256 ,ect the higher the number the better.
hope this helps.

The game installs fine and i can access the menu screens, but when starting a match the game encounters a problem and needs to close! is it the graphics card?

You should find out what kind of video card you have and go to the website for that video card and download the newest drivers available (example ) It can be the graphic card doesn't have enough memory to run the game. Some of them are very demanding on video resources. Check out the minimum requirements on the game for system ram and video ram.

My computer doesn't work a application program

Make sure your system meets the minimum requirements for the game.
Operating system: 2000/XP Processor:1.0GHz. Memory:256MB Hard Drive: 1.2GB
DVD ROM:8Speed
Video Card:32 MB
Sound Card:direct X 9.0c compatible

If problem is with loading or playing with graphics, there are controls in the game that allow you 'shut down' some of the graphical effects that can help get the game working. Also, shutting down unnecessary programs like instant messengers can free memory needed for game. Right-click items in task area (lower right corner) and exit or close items you don't need during game play.

Let it cool down.. Put it in the freezer(in a plastic bag for 20 minutes with the battery out of it. Then allow it to warm up for 10 minutes. these laptops are not great at playing games because they should get an external graphics card if you get this running again..

hi my name is wesley. please run a virus scan because about two months ago i had the same problem with my games and it waz a virus that infects 1 specific file in all the games that you play so that the next time you play them they glitch an shut down in the first few minutes. after checking for virus re-install 1 of your games and try to see if it works but before you re-install move all your saved files to a different folder to keep until you have installed agen then you can put them back so you dont lose saved game data.
